Shires of Vermont

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Just a quick blog to say I am running the Shires marathon in Vermont. It will be May 15th! Wish me luck. Hoping it will go well, but I have had a shortened training period, because I was a slacker. I am feeling pretty good about things and feel I will be ready though.
Will give a little report after.

Good luck ANTHONYF in your efforts during your weight loss journey and since it includes a competitive meet all the better. Where are the Shires of Vermont? I will be in Dover, Vermont in a couple of weeks for a Breast Cancer event called Mothers for Daughters.

Best of Luck on the Shires of Vermont Marathon in a few weeks. Although I am not ready for a marathon, I wish I could be there. I grew up in Northern VT in Shelburne, but both of my parents are from North Bennington and my grandfather was a Professor at Bennington College for many years. You will be running by much of my childhood.

I received a stress fracture in my foot during a 15 mile run training for a marathon a few years ago. I'm toying with the thought of doing a half marathon in Chicago later this summer.

But this is not about me.... Have a great run on May 15th. I do hope you enjoy the scenery! Best of Luck emoticon

I love Paris in the springtime...

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Well, there wasn't much hype for it, but I ran the Paris marathon in early April.
I did my best time yet, at 5:08, very close to my goal of breaking 5 hours.
the day was beautiful and the run was amazing. I met a couple people from the US right before starting and ran with them most of the way. I dropped off a bit at the end, but they finished about 15 minutes before I did.

So now I am a 5 time, and international, marathon runner emoticon

Next up is the Amica marathon in Newport RI. I will start training in early May (in a couple weeks! eek)

The trip was great even with the 4 day delay in returing home because of the Iceland volcano eruption.

Congratulations on your marathon! Very nice - 5 time international marathon runner! I'm terribly impressed. I just ran my first 10 K in 24 years here in Oslo. I haven't received my participation medal yet...held up in some other country by Icelandic Volcanic Ash! Glad you go home OK and good luck in Newport!

I'm in a New York State of Mind!

Sunday, June 07, 2009

I entered my name into the lottery for the NYC marathon, without much hope of getting in. It was my first time entering the lottery and many folks say that it is hard to get a spot.
BUT..I got in! So my next marathon will be in NYC! Yahoo.
I am beyond excited. My training is in full swing and I am feeling great. I want to focuse on my stamina and pace. I hope to break the 5 hour mark. My last marathon was a tad under 515.

Hyannis Marathon -5:14:51

YEEEHA

I ran the marathon Sunday. I finished strong and was very happy with my time. I was excited when I finished to see a 5:17 on the clock. It wasn't until I looked up the results later that I realized that was the gun time. Even though it was small, it took a couple minutes to cross the start.

I took Monday off to lounge and relax. Not feeling too sore so that is a major plus.

    Awesome Job Anthony!!

What a wonderful time, and to not be sore is a definite plus!!! I think I was a week not liking walking down the stairs.

Trish

Sad Day

My little rabbit, Foo, passed away this morning.
He was a wonderful bunny and brought us a lot of love.
We had him for over ten years, and he will missed greatly.

Anthony, we're so sorry you and your loved one lost your little Foo today!
My hubby and I had a little poodle, Muffie's, we lost after about that long, also, and ohhh, I SOOO KNOW how our beloved lil' pets are truly as member's of the family.
My heart's with you tonight-what a pretty tribute you put in your blog.
Take care. Hugs!---Sherry
