Jacob's day at church

Sunday, May 03, 2009

I went to watch Jacob's baptism. It is also his dads (Dustin) birthday. The whole church was singing Happy Birthday to Dustin and I happened to glance at the piano and it was JACOB PLAYING. Jacob is 8 and taking piano lessons but I had no clue he was far enough along to play in front of people. I was so impressed and so happy. I can't believe I didn't cry.

Jacob's Baptism

Friday, May 01, 2009

My oldest grandson Jacob, (8) will be baptised this Sunday evening. What a momentous occasion. I trust I won't cry (I hope). He is such a fine young man and being raised by very good people.

Never grow up

Thursday, April 30, 2009

In Kindergarten, we all walked to the store for a .05 treat. When we got back to class the teacher told us to put our treat in our desk and get out our book. My treat was an ice cream bar. Just now I got an ice cream bar (no sugar added) and put it on the table behind me and forgot about it. Melted all over and made a mess. My desk was in a mess. Melted all over my books, crayons, papers and the desk. That was over 60 years ago and I never forgot and never outgrew dumb tricks

flowers and windows

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

The flower gardens are coming along. Today i spaded up 2 and planted 16 flowers, silva and Marigolds. tomorrow if the rain will hold off, I'll spade up the last garden, but its also the biggest. It gets vincas. I'm going to mulch it for the 1st time ever. Most of the little sposts have mulch and look cute with a minimum of weeds popping up
The window is the one i broke in the wind a couple of days ago. It is all repaired and only needs washed to be good as new. Years ago I repaired windows fairly regularly and this is the 1st one i've done since the late 80's. Hope the next one is 20 more years away

Wore myself out

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Today I gathered up everything to repair a shelf in my store where my son is the manager. He did all the work, I did all the watching and boy did I get tired! It was a big job but its done and looks great.
