Blog #7 Anything else to share

Friday, March 08, 2013

This has been a good week of blogging and responding to blogs. Normally, I don't blog much. However, this week I have enjoyed blogging and thinking about my goals. I have stayed on track with not eating processed, sugary, sweets. Blogging and reading other people's blogs does help with living a healthy lifestyle.

What a great blog - it really does help to read other blog and realize that other people are going through your same struggles. WTG on not eating the processed sugary sweets! I did the same with the Diet Coke - once I posted the first blog, I have not had one since!

Blogging has been a real treat for me too. Having never done it before I am so impressed with how much it has helped me put into words what I have never discussed before and then to get such positive feedback and support has been a blessing.

Blog #6 Do you need motivation or advice?

Thursday, March 07, 2013

I have to say that the challenge itself is very motivating for me. The blogging each day has also been motivating. The only advice/question that I have is what do you do besides drinking lots of water and staying busy to curb your appetite?

I wish I had the answer to that one. Pre-portioning out food has helped me, but I still binge, even when I am not hungry. My daughter says to eat until you are 80% full.

Head hunger is such a pain! When it comes to overcoming it, the first thing to do is recognize it for what it is, then why it's happening, then, if self-talk doesn't take it away, I do things like pray, read scripture, read a good book, work on crotcheting, really anything that will take my mind off my body! If your body is hungry, feed it! Depending on when it is, a glass of orange juice, or even water may be the right thing, or fruit or veggies, or I have low cal. snacks I keep around for those real hunger times. Also if it is true hunger, it goes away, only to come back in about an hour, if it's head hunger, it never leaves cuz it isn't your body yelling at you, it's your head!!!! End of sermon!

I agree with the fruit and veg comment. I also think it's true that putting lemon in your water somehow helps curb the appetite. For me, I use gum. I chew a lot of gum (always sugar free). I think having something for my mouth to do really helps me.

If I'm hungry, I eat. If I'm bored; I find something to do! I don't keep things around that I shouldn't eat; like others have said that means a lot of fruit and veggies and I have to make sure I get plenty of protein. Dairy, nuts, greek yogurt etc. My main motivation is that I really like the way I feel! emoticon

I try to eat lots a fruits and veggies since they are more filling. I guess that doesn't necessarily curb my appetite but it does help all the way around.

Blog- Day - 5 What can you improve?

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

I can improve on being more consistent with how much I eat. I have a day or two a week when I go over my calorie limit. I need to cut out those days as they are hindering my weight loss.

Me too!!t !! I can't believe how easy it is to slip over that calorie range! We just need to be more aware of what is going in! It's a hard job, isn't it? I wish you lots of wisdom, with a touch of humor thrown in! emoticon

I need the same thing. When I'm consistent about staying within my range, I always lose but even a couple of days over and I'll gain.

Good work on recognizing where you need to focus for success.

Blog Day 4- How are you doing day by day?

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

So far I have not had any cravings for Animal Crackers or any other processed sweets. I have stayed on track so far. I think putting this into a blog and telling people what I was going to do has helped me stay away from the processed sweets

I try to have healthy snacks around all the time so I can stuff those in my mouth to stave off temptation! I also allow myself a treat a day as long as it stays within my calories for the day.

LITTLEBJANET 3/4/2013 9:44PM

How are you doing with giving up all sweets? What I do sometimes is count out my limit on my treat and bag several so that I just grab one and that's all I eat. If I have the big bag in front of me and I'm feeling weak, I have trouble setting my limit.
