Since it's been almost 4 months (!?!?) since I posted a blog, I thought I'd at least give you a peek at what's been keeping me away...

I'm going to try to do a quick update. I'll try to hit all the high points and not make it too long..
This past weekend we bought baby furniture. We kept holding off saying we'd get by until we moved so we didn't have to move furniture twice, but we needed furniture so we bought it. We got a cute little set for a great price and set it all up on Saturday. It then gave me nesting-fever so I dressed the bed, installed the carseat base, bought diaper storage containers, sorted diapers, redecorated rooms to fit the new baby furniture everywhere, and worked on the "nursery" a bit. Exciting stuff. Did anyone else remove the WARNING labels from their carseat? Hubby can't understand why I wasted the time doing it--I just hate the way they look so I took them off.
Last week we met with a custom homebuilder and I *think* we've finally settled on him to build our home. He has a great price for what we're looking for AND we get an extra bedroom than we were planning on. Double score. We're hoping to get our financing finalized next week and start building by the end of the year. Wishful thinking maybe, but he says it takes about 90 days start to finish, so that would put us in the house right before I have to go back to work after maternity leave. Booo! I won't even get to enjoy the new house! But oh well.
I've been trying to exercise on a more regular schedule and trying to find time outside of work to do it in. I was working out 4-5 days per week on my lunch break at work, but I am so tired of carrying my big ole' gym bag back and forth every day. Even if I leave stuff up here, I still have to bring a big bag of stuff every day. Not fun at all. Plus, once the baby is in daycare, I plan to go to daycare on my lunchbreaks to feed so that will knock that out. I don't have time to workout before work--I already get up at 5am for a 7am shift. I can workout after work, but it's not always consistent. If we have stuff planned then that comes first and then it's dinner time and then bedtime and then I haven't worked out that day.. Grrr! I almost want to go back to my 9-6 shift so I can workout before work every day and get it done. But then that puts me home after 6 every night with no time to do anything before starting dinner. Plus, once hubby starts classes again in 3-4 weeks, I'll have to be back on the early shift so I can pick up DSS from daycare after work on hubby's school days. Dang. I don't know how moms of young kids do it! I'm determined to figure something out though...
Next week I go back to the doctor for my 36 week appointment. After that she starts seeing me every week until I deliver. I've been having some really mild, random contractions the past few days so I'm going to see if she thinks that's indicative that I'll go into labor early. I know no one will really know, but I want to see what her experience is... Everyone tells me I look much further along than I am, etc etc, and the tech that did my anatomy scan said I should be delivering earlier than planned because the baby was developing ahead of schedule, but I don't know how much that all counts for anything. The baby will come when it's ready and not a minute before. But all the waiting is just killing me..
Christmas is this weekend--can't believe it! This year FLEW by!! Friday we have a holiday at work. Saturday we're celebrating Christmas with hubby's family over brunch at his mom's. Not looking forward to that at all. Then Saturday night we'll go to mass (maybe even midnight mass...) and Sunday celebrate at home with DSS. Sunday afternoon sometime we'll head to my parents' to celebrate with my family Sunday night. Monday we're doing family pictures with them, then we're headed back home. Tuesday I have a vacation day because DSS goes to his mom's at noon and daycare is closed. (So that means a 4-day work week this week and a 3-day work week next week!) The following Sunday hubby and I celebrate our anniversary and the New Year! I can't believe it's been a year already--crazy how much we've done in only a year of being married!
I guess that about sums it up. I tried to be brief, but that doesn't usually happen with me. Hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, and relaxing holiday season!! Once the new year rolls around, I'll be counting down the days until I can get back into running! (:

Lots of good things going on this week.
Today, it's raining. Bummer since I can't play in it, but we need it so badly. It's wonderful. Unfortunately I had to go out in it at lunchtime for a doctor's appointment, but I didn't melt and made it back to work in tact (other than flat hair, but...).
The doctor's appointment went well. I'm measuring right on track for being 30+ weeks along now. I gained 1 pound in the last two weeks, so the doc is pleased. The baby's heartbeat was in the 130's this week. It was in the 140's two weeks ago. Both perfectly normal.
Yesterday I got a lot of diaper stash in the mail. So pumped. The one I was most excited about is a blue-jean "looking" diaper. It is ADORABLE.
Hopefully the picture uploaded right-side-up (I can't see photos on my work computer...). If so, the diaper is in the bottom left corner. If the picture is sideways, I believe that puts the diaper in the bottom right corner. The other ones surrounding that are just some others in our stash. The bluejean one was the one I was most pumped about. I also got in our newborn diapers. I got 4 of them. They are SO tiny! DSS helped me "practice" putting all the diapers on a baby doll yesterday. He says he's going to help me change dirty diapers when the baby is born. I can only hope! (:
This weekend, on Saturday, my sisters are throwing me a baby shower. I'm not entirely looking forward to it, but I am excited. I know one of my presents already--because it was delivered to my house and I opened it not knowing what it was, oops--and it's the larger of the diaper bags that we registered for. I am SO excited. After our shower this weekend I'll start washing diapers and baby clothes. We're using that large diaper bag as the hospital bag, so I'll start making a list and packing things I need in that bag. Really, I am so VERY excited about that bag. I love (!!!) it plus it kind of makes this baby even more real. (: This is a link to the diaper bag.
oductId=2307251 It's a little large, but I tend to be an over-packer. Plus, with a 4 year old and a newborn, I'll be carrying a lot of stuff around. I still carry a bag with DSS if we go somewhere other than like the grocery store or something because you never know when he'll be hungry or thirsty or have an accident (yes, at age 4...), or need something to occupy him, etc. Again, I'm a chronic over-packer. I can't help it.
The rain is really coming down now... I wish I was outside playing in it!
I think that's about it for now. Nothing exercise or health related, I know, but no one cares about the eating habits of a preggo lady so I won't bore you with that info! (:

Oops, it's been almost a week already! I said I was going to get better about blogging. Guess I'm still working on that.
It's been a busy week, even though nothing major has really been going on. Last weekend our Realtor did an open house at our house. No one came. Literally 0 people. We were already thinking of getting rid of her and hiring someone else, so this just kind of sealed the deal. This is her 2nd open house with 0 people through. She's supposed to be doing another one this weekend so I guess that will be the last straw if she doesn't get anyone through the house. She said that most people who buy houses don't buy them because they went to an open house for that house, they come from other avenues. First off, that's how we bought OUR house, so it does happen. And secondly, if she doesn't have anything else out there, then the Open House is their only option.
Other than that I am (im)patiently waiting on another order of diapers. I am not good at waiting. I think this will make like 10 diapers we have total, for a total of about 20-25 diaper changes without having to wash. I want a few more styles that are more suited for newborns, but I told DH I would wait until after our Baby Shower next weekend before I buy anything else. It's hard. I am truly addicted to these cute little suckers. I used to be OBSESSED with all things cow print--my bedroom was done in cows, all my stuff for school (binder, pencil bag, etc) was cow print, I had clothes and purses in cow print... Obsessed. In any case, there is a little diaper that I want SO badly in cow print but it's almost $20 I told DH I would wait. This is the diaper: www.kellyscloset.com/Happy-Heinys-ON
html It is so stinkin' cute! I bought that exact diaper in another color (which is great) but I'm wishing I had just bit the bullet and bought the cow one!
I did, however, find a store in my parents' town that sells cloth diapers. It's a little "boutique" store, but they specialize in cloth diapering. They have both new and used diapers, and they also consign cloth diapers there. Sooo when we're in town next weekend for the shower, I'm definitely making a stop there. There are two newborn size diapers I'm wanting, so that is my "excuse" to go there. I don't think anyone will get us CD's for the shower so I don't know why I'm forcing myself to wait, but it's a good practice in will power! However, when I go to that store, if they have the cow print diaper--oh my gosh, watch out checkbook!
Monday night we took DSS to the carnival in town. He had a lot of fun, even though we only let him go on two things. It's pretty darn expensive, plus I can't go on anything (obviously) so we walked around for a while, then he chose two things he wanted to do. He went on a little obstacle course thing first which he loved. It ended with this big tube slide at the end and he loved that. Then he went on a little airplane ride all by himself. He thought he was a bigshot. You sit in the airplane thing, then the whole airplane goes up into the air (along with the other ones) and they all spin around the center pole. He loved that.
This weekend I think DH is working, so DSS and I will probably spend a lot of time at the park. Last weekend when DH worked I got an hour of walking in on Saturday. I don't think I can get that much in this weekend since I have DSS and no stroller currently, but we can do at least 2 miles and I can walk laps while he plays at the park for a total of probably 3 miles (~45 minutes). I'll also try to fit a walk in on Sunday as well to make up for Saturday.
Other than that, I should be off. What a long blog entry for "nothing" going on around here. I have another certification test next week so I'm going to study. When I pass this one, I get an extra $600 per year (I think), PLUS since it will be my 4th certification, I get an additional $1200 per year! Nice! Plus our reviews are coming back in the next two weeks, and I'm hoping for a little pay raise on that as well. Lots of needed money just in time for this baby. Too bad I can't get my certification checks all in one lump sum! Oh--and I referred my Realtor's son to our company and he got a Full Time position, so in January I also get a bonus from that! The Lord is definitely watching out for us! So lucky!
And I'll really wrap it up this time. Keep Sparkin' friends! (:

It's already Thursday! Yay! And I'm 1/8 of the way through my day. This week has been draggggggggging by for some reason. Probably because I'm anxious for Thanksgiving to get here. My fave holiday of the whole year, so I always start getting excited as soon as it's November 1st!
Tuesday I had a doctor's appointment. Everything is right on track. She went over our birth plan, signed off on it, and answered all of our questions that we had at the time. It was hubby's first time meeting the new doctor and he really liked her. I have another appointment in 2 weeks, when we'll either do or schedule an ultrasound to check the position of the baby. I'm 99% sure it's head-down, but she wants to check around 30 weeks and then again at 36 weeks.
My CASA court was also on Tuesday; they scheduled mediation for January 12 (my due date is the 21) and then trial on February 15. I'm hoping I'll be able to go to mediation and then have the baby after that, then be okay enough to go to trial in February. Could have been worse timing, but definitely could have been better as well.
After all that on Tuesday, I went to Motherhood Maternity to look for some clothes. I didn't really find anything I like. I tried on 3 dresses--all looked *weird* and a pair of jeans. I bought the jeans, yay! I have one pair already, but they're dressier and quite long (for wearing heels) so I wanted a pair that were more casual and shorter so I could wear flats or go barefoot in them. And they were on sale for $15 so it was like $21 total for them. Pretty good seeing as how my other preggo jeans were $35 I think.
I didn't get the bathtubs cleaned like I'd planned to, but I did clean the rest of the house. Leaning over the bathtub with this big ole' belly just doesn't sound appealing. I have some spray stuff that you just spray on, wait for 5 minutes or something, and then rinse off, but I still like to actually scrub the tubs to make sure the....germs?... are all gone. Maybe I'll convince hubby to clean them for me. No one's been able to take a bath in probably a month because I haven't scrubbed them well. The spray stuff does a good job of cleaning them, but I still won't let anyone take a bath unless they're good and scrubbed. Maybe he'll clean them tomorrow after work so I can take a bath on Saturday morning...motivation to go for a nice long walk. (:
Other than that, just being busy busy this week. It is DRAGGING on and I'm so tired this week, but it's almost Friday. We don't have DSS tomorrow night, so we're going to go downtown for a little bit, then come home and go to bed early. DH thinks he's working on Saturday (boo for waking up early, yay for money) which means I will wake up earlier than I'd like, but I can take a guilt-free nap if I wake up early and workout. I guess it's a win-win situation.
Oh Halloween, I almost forgot! DSS was a chicken. His costume turned out so cute! He got so many compliments on it. He got really frieked out by all the costumes, so we didn't stay long. Plus he was pretty tired so that didn't help either. He got some candy, but not a whole lot, and nothing tempting which is good for me. He did get one baby Heath bar, which I already ate, and the rest was mainly tootsie rolls and tootsie pops. I think tootsies are extremely disgusting, I don't know how people eat them, but we threw a lot out (extremely shady looking) and he ate a few pieces. The rest will probably go in the trash too. I feel bad throwing out candy, but no one really wants all that junk. I'm glad most houses only gave him one or two little pieces. At the firestation they gave him two huge handfuls of stuff--all tootsies--and I was thinking "goodness, he's only 4. He doesn't need all that junk!" I'm just glad Halloween is over. I don't like the holiday and we don't need the candy. (:
I guess that's about it. I'm off to trudge through another day here at the office. We are super UNbusy so I've really had nothing to do the past couple of days. Not that I like it when we're super busy, but I wish there were a happy medium. (:
Countdown to baby: 79 days +/-
Keep up the hard work, friends. You all inspire me!
