Goals and rational 26/10/2013

I am going to use E2L. I weigh 65kg and I want to be 60kg before new year.
I've used this method before and it is a challenge to get used to it, but I know that once I get used to it and eat lots of fruit and vegetables I can lose all the weight I
want to.

Today I am eating sort of healthily, but I will start properly tomorrow. I need to buy some beans, more fruit, vegetables and salad. My poor score of 3/10 today shows that there is room for lots of improvement, when I start tomorrow.


Today did I...?
*Eat as much fruit as I want, but at least four fresh fruits daily. 0
*Eat 2 or more green vegetables. 1
*Eat no more than 2 ounces of starchy vegetables, bread, pasta or rice. 0
*Eat beans or legumes every day. 0
*Eliminate animal and dairy products today 0
*Consume up to one ounce of nuts and seeds. 1
*Have 1 cup of coffee or less. 0
*Have some salad for lunch or dinner. 1
*Use pepper,herbs or spices rather than salt, to add flavour to meals. 0
*Eat under 1550 cals. 0

Eat to Live 6-Week Plan

From the book Eat to Live: The Revolutionary Formula for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss by Dr. Joel Fuhrman

UNLIMITED (eat as much as you want):

all raw vegetables, including raw carrots (goal: 1 lb. daily)
cooked green vegetables (goal 1 lb. daily)
beans, legumes, bean sprouts, or *tofu (minimum 1 cup daily in total of these)
fresh fruit (at least 4 daily).
eggplant, mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomato and other non-starchy vegetables, cooked and raw (unlimited)
*Beans should be eaten daily; tofu should be eaten less frequently.

LIMITED (not more than one serving):

cooked starchy vegetables OR whole grains–Maximum 1 cup per day (butternut or acorn squash, corn, sweet potato, brown rice, cooked carrots, whole grain breads*, whole grain cereals*)
raw nuts and seeds (1 oz. or 28.5 grams a day) or 2 ounces avocado
ground flaxseed (1 tablespoon a day)
soymilk, low-sugar preferred–Maximum 1 cup a day
*avoid breads and cereals as much as possible

OFF-LIMITS:

dairy products
animal products
between meal snacks
fruit juice, dried fruits
salt, sugar
NUTS and RAW SEEDS, but not ground flax, are optional for obese or overweight persons while they follow this weight loss plan. People who have difficulty losing weight may also eliminate the starchy vegetable/grain.

  


December 15th and no more messing!

I started the day with toast. It was a good quality bread, but nevertheless it was toast and marmite. Not an item highly recommended by Dr Furman. Then 2 hours later I was starving again. But this time I made a proper ETL choice - 2 apples. I know ETL works and when I am focused on doing it properly it is incredibly successful. But for the last few weeks I have been avoiding doing it properly - I'll start tomorrow, I'll just have this or this... Clinging to my old habits, procrastinationg thinking of excuses not to change.
But today is really Day 1. Day one of my holiday too. I have 3 weeks with no plans, except holidays. It will be great to lose weight before New Years and by 2013 I will be taking it all in my stride and seeing positive results.

So let's evaluate. Where am I at now?

I have been the same weight for about the last 4 months. I fit into my 'bigger clothes comfortably, but I have smaller clothes that do not fit. Shorts don't look great either. My fitness is quite good, I can run 5k comfortably. I am healthly and others say I look ok, but I know can look and feel better. I have done it before and I want to do it again. The problem is I am great at thinking positive, then not doing anything new. Letting myself get hungry and eating too much. I have to go fruit and veg crazy, to change this. I have to eat fruit and veg until I am stuffed to break the cycle.

What do I need to change?
Eat more fruit and vegetables all the time.

What do I need to do more?
Eat fruit beans and vegetables as 90% of my diet. Eat lots so I am less tempted by junk. Track everything I eat. Keep running and start a 10k run program. Start doing sit ups and press ups.

What will I do less?
Less cookies, chips, less bread and potatoes.

Started today to get ready for holiday Day 1

Weight 63.4kg.
I have 2 1/2 weeks until my holiday and I'm going to lose weight so I look good in photos (yes I am that vain!)

This is how - I started today.

Breakfast : 1oz oats, 1/2 oz nuts, apple, ground flax seed and milk.

Lunch: protein, vegetables, salad, fruit.

Snacks: 1/2 oz nuts and fruit

Dinner: 1oz rice or pasta, beans and veg, salad. Dessert fruit and milk.

Started today - should come in at under 1500 cals and very healthy :)

*Have some salad for lunch or dinner. 1
