Umpteenth time

That's what it feels like , that I am saying "here we go again". I am not ready to give up, learned from my past mistakes. Ready to do this again. I have lost 2 pounds in a week emoticon by eating healthier, drinking more water, watching my portions and moving more.

Finally had a physical done after waiting 3 years after the doctor told me that I had a bit of high cholesterol. Finally decided that what the heck. Just get the testing done. So, I have dropped bad cholesterol numbers, and raised a little bit of the good cholesterol. I couldn't believe it, asked the doctor if my results didn't get mixed up with someone else's. I think it might have to do with my every morning oatmeal with a tablespoon of flax seed. Also less baked goodies.
Was feeling so good that I said why not to the mammogram that the doctor suggested, as I have already hit 40. A couple of days later got a call that they want ultrasound of my right breast, as they found a lump. I told them that I will charge for that lol. To cut the long story short, they also did a biopsy, and found out that it is a fibroid. So All is Well. Didn't tell my folks as they will worry for nothing. Had to tell someone. so you are it. Thanks for listening.

    Thanks everyone. I would say that even though I took it pretty lightly, but somewhere in the back of my mind, I was praying that let me be well because my girls still need me. Then again, I was determined that if it came out positive then, I will give it a tough fight.

    I'm glad that everything is just hunky dory!!!Having been through Breast Cancer and 8 cycles of Toxic chemo as well as Radio Therapy it's quite an irritation to get a clean Chit every 6 months---and Mammography is a pain too---while one side can be sandwiched quite comfortably between the Plates,the other side has very little left to sandwich---and that is the painful part!!I would suggest to every woman I know to be particular about these Tests---it's better to be safe rather than sorry---as I found out the hard way!!!Take Care and God Bless!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Tofu can be delicious

I wanted to share this great vegetarian recipe with you that I tried yesterday. For us, it's a keeper.
So basically, You get 1 pound of extra firm tofu, from which you drain all the water. Put it in a few layers of paper towels to dry out. you can also put it under a heavy saucepan. Seperately you mix up a sauce of 3 tbsp. rice vinegar(I used apple cider vinegar),3 tbsp. sugar,1tbsp. ketchup,2tbsp. soy sauce,1/2 tsp. ground ginger, red chilli pepper to taste, and about half a cup of broth(I used water)
Slice one onion and chop 3 garlic cloves
Have your vegetables cut up to stir fry. You can use green pepper, carrots, snow peas, mushrooms, etc.
Heat up the wok. add a little oil, Add sliced onions and chopped garlic. Then add the rest of the vegetables. Stir fry for a couple of min. Add sauce. To thicken the sauce , mix 2 tbsp of cornstarch in some water, and add it to the sauce. After that , add cubed tofu. Stir fry for a min. or 2. Serve it warm with brown rice or noodles.

  Tofu burgee you refer to is very popular tofu scramble.

You can google "dry-fry tofu" and see the techniques of "frying" tofu (getting it browned) without actually frying it.

I add tofu and the sauce, let it thicken and then add the veggies in the end so that they stay crunchy and firm.

I make variations of this with peanut butter-thai style at home, once a week, with noodles or spagetti...kiddos love it!

    I'm not a fan of tofu because I've bought it a few times firm and extra firm and tried to get all the water out and still end up with mush when I cook with it. So I dunno, it tastes great with whatever I cook it just doesn't look appealing and my husband and kids hate the I've stopped buying it.

But the other day I had a baked tofu mush and red potato casserole covered with cheese and it was amazing. I have no recipe to duplicate it though.

    Both the recipes sound great. Next time I'll try the marination. Never tried sambal but have heard about it. If it's spicy, it's got my vote.

    I make similar recipe,except I marinate the Tofu in vinegar,soy sauce and red chilli sauce for few hours...either way its delicious emoticon

    I love cubing extra firm tofu. pan-"frying" it (with Pam spray) and adding sambal and a little lite soy sauce to it...soo good...spicy but tasty! :)

    Thanks for all the new tips everyone. Now my kids laugh about this, but, I sometimes make this Tofu bhurji, like scrambled eggs with onion, ginger, tomato,jeera and green pepper, that they like with parantha for lunch. I used to tell them it's paneer. Now they have caught on. So, everytime I make it now, they joke about the tofu paneer. emoticon

    Oh personal fav is similar but I crumble the tofu so that people who dont enjoy Tofu can try it too. Almost like Veggie egg scramble:)

    I agree. Tofu is very versatile. I add it to almost everything -- when kneading a dough, to pancake mix, diced tofu in soup, 1 inch pieces in pasta etc. etc.

Oh boy!!!!!! I am so excited. I have always been looking for something that will give me a good workout and be fun at the same time. And I have found the answer. Zumba . It feels less like a workout and more like a emoticon Basically it is based on latin dancing and high energy.
The instructor said that In one hour we can burn anywhere from 500-800 cals, Depending on our internsity. I have tried it and love it. I think everyone should try it atleast once and if your gym does not offer it, then request them to do so.

    It's been about 2 weeks, and I am still loving it. Knowing myself, I will take a break from zumba once a while and try something else, so that boredom won't set in. Maybe do some water aerobics. But right now, pretty happy with it and think this will keep me at the gym. emoticon

    Thanks Sonpary. I have invested in special zumba shoes, because I found out that if I did zumba in walking shoes, it made my knees hurt because of all the twisting and turning. Cross training shoes also work by the way. I am trying to go to the class atleast 2-3 times a week.
I really like the never give up soup you are having. I think I will add it to my daily dose
