Today the hubby said that he would like to walk with me. He wants to start being more active. I have been making sure that I exercise at least ten minutes a day, but really like to get in at least an hour five or more times per day. I was going to go for a long bike ride, but if the hubby wants to join me in getting healthy, I will skip the bike and walk.
We started our walk and he asked what the hurry was. I had to chuckle because I remember when I first started, I walked rather slowly. I guess my pace has increased! I slowed a little, but it drove me a bit crazy. I actually wanted to take off on a run! I resisted the urge and stayed with my man.
Our two mile walk took 32 minutes. That is okay with me, however. I got in my exercise and was able to walk with my hubby!

Today I woke with the intention of going for a run and then walking the remainder of my one hour workout time. The weather was perfect...not too hot and just cool enough to feel great while I ran. I told myself to do at least three miles of running and then see how I felt. As I was completing the first mile, I decided to go ahead and try to five miles. This is not something I have ever done, but I felt great! Mile four was just fine, so began mile five. Believe it or not, I really couldn't, I finished mile five with energy to spare. I would have continued just to see how far I could have gone, but it was 8:45 and church began at 9:00.
I was pretty excited that I was able to accomplish this goal. Had it been as hot as it was last week, it would not have happened. Maybe someday I will go for six miles!

I went for a run this morning and boy was it hot! I ended up running two miles, then walked/ran another three miles. I think I am needing to bring water along with me on my run now since it is getting hot even in the early morning. Either that or I am going to just have to run in a loop and leave my water somewhere along that route. I was going to run around 7:00, but didn't get out until 8:00 a.m. I guess I am going to have to start earlier as well.
So water and earlier are the changes I need to make, or so I think. Does anybody else make changes like these when it starts getting hotter?
