a beautiful summer day

Thursday, August 11, 2011

it is a day to enjoy to the fullest. everyone is doing well and says hi. thanks so much for the birthday wishes! i really appreciate it! i spent the day catching up on housework and running some errands. now i am taking it easy and enjoying the rest of the night. i have been exercising regularly and eating a variety of healthy foods over the past month. i spent some time today just colouring with my daughter. spending time with your family and friends is something very important. treasure them every day. it has been 20 years this month since my grandmother passed away. i have been paying my respects every week, to honour her memory. she was a wonderful, kind person who could not do enough for her children or her grandchildren. i know that she would not want me to be moping around. she would want me to celebrate my life to the fullest with loved ones and friends. i am sure that she is watching down on us from heaven, along with my other grandparents and my grandpa i grew up with. i had a quiet birthday this year. that is what i wanted. i got to spend it with my family and i got many well wishes from my friends from all around the world. have a wonderful day, everyone!`

hello everyone

Wednesday, July 06, 2011

after a very long, unplanned spark break, i am back. i know i will reach my goal weight, even though i gained 10 pounds while i was away. there was so much going on in my life that i did not have the time to log on to sparkpeople for a long time. things are finally settled and not as hectic. it feels good to be back. my friend sweetmommy41 has kept me up to date on all the new and fun changes that have been happening on sparkpeople since i was away. my family all say hello, including my beautiful birds. my daughter has finished school for another year. she is curious about what grade 1 is like and is really looking forward to it. have a great day, all!

a beautiful,sunny,mild spring day!

Friday, May 14, 2010

full sunshine here today! my family spent the most part of the day indoors. it's a family reunion for my husband this weekend just for the siblings this time. there would not be enough room at his sister's place if everyone that is a part of the family came. my daughter and i will be doing plenty of fun things here, including riding our bikes and playing plenty indoors and out. my birds love this weather! they spent a good part of their day chatting with other birds that they hear outdoors. they are even more active than usual. whenever the weather is this nice, they are more active, more chatty and have so much energy. i did complete my cardio and strength training workouts today, as well as about 100 crunches and some other exercises. to have all of this energy is incredible. for their gym class today, at my daughter's school, they did several walking laps in the backyard area of the school. was she tired after doing that? of course not. she still had plenty of energy to play even more. i picked up a few more clothes for her when i was out today. including a beautiful dress i saw that is just right for her. she does like to wear dresses and skirts sometimes. especially on days when she does not have gym at school and it is not too cold outside. she pretty much picks out her own clothes for school these days. she has a separate drawer in her dresser with just play clothes in it. these she knows she can wear when she is at home or visiting with her grandparents. it makes it easier on the laundry that way for me,too. there is always something to do when you have children, especially when you have young children. my daughter keeps us on the go from the morning when she gets up until she is ready to go to bed at night. she is such a bundle of energy and a happy child. have a great weekend, everyone!

what a day!

i decided to volunteer to coach my daughter's t-ball team this year and i was accepted as a coach. this is the first time i will be coaching a team without any other family members helping me. i am actually looking forward to it and i am getting excited about it. i decided to become a volunteer coach instead of playing baseball myself. focus on spending some extra time with my daughter while learning a whole new set of skills at the same time. i will be learning right along with her. i also heard back from the local coordinator of a charity i am able to volunteer with when i have time. i get to help sell 50/50 raffle tickets and be at a baseball game, too. a team i follow and that my whole family follows. i get to do something i enjoy, helping out others, while getting to enjoy something i love, being at a baseball game. i did complete a c25k session today, my regular cardio workout, some crunches, some jumping jacks and a variety of exercises today. despite some not so positive responses from a few close friends and some family members, i am going ahead with it. how else will i learn if i can do something if i do not give it a full try? no longer do i start something and not finish it. if i believe i can do it, i complete it from start to finish, no matter what the task is. my daughter enjoys being outdoors and is really eager to try out t-ball for the first time. usually, she likes to play soccer in the spring and summer. now, she has changed her mind and seems much more interested in t-ball. it will be only for one hour a week, once a week. that is something that will not interefere too much with her usual bedtime or it will not affect her school time, either. it is in the early evening, after dinner. she has those close to her practicing with her or watching her practice as often as she can. she also enjoys riding on her bike that she got for her birthday. have a great day, all!

Not only can you do all this that you say you truly enjoy but look at the exercise you will get! And by the way don't forget to log in all the minutes and steps!
As for support from your family and friends, sometimes it takes doing and showing to get them also involved in your goals. So stay on your track, my friend!

Your daughter is going to be so much healthier with all these outdoor activities. You are teaching her the right way to lead her life and stay healthy! Good for you!

Hope you have a fantastic week end and keep up the great job!
