Dance Party Part 2 - and Kegel Challenge

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

The song is "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran

This is the third song of a Dance Party set, but all three together was too long a vlog. The first two were posted before this. This one has more talking, esp. after the song. I talk about 2.5 min. after the song is over.

Do you get "hungry like the wolf" during your time of the month? OMG I do.. and I need to eat meat then, but rarely eat meat other times of the month. I don't eat much of any beef ever, but I got lean ground turkey and made turkey burgers today and created a recipe from several here on SparkRecipes. I posted it, too. Check yesterday's nutrition tracker and you can find it.. Wait.. can I get the link? Yes!

There it is! Even my picky eater son loved it!

Challenge- Do 2 sets of 15 kegels. :) Vlog in the last 2.5 minutes discuss kegels and how to do them.

I saw Duran Duran in the 80s too...lol!!

Kegels after childbirth helps get your insides back in shape...I was doing them on the delivery table right after my first born and my doctor gave me crap...I hadn't finished delivering the afterbirth...LOL oops :)

By the way...you probably need more iron if you crave beef during your period...that may explain your low energy levels too...it takes a lot of time to get your iron levels up but a really short time depleting them.

BTW kegel is pronounced KEEE GAL
do kegels WHILE have sex....they notice!!! LOL

Simple Secret to Flatter Abs and Better Sex!

Monday, June 18, 2012

OMG you aren't going to believe this one! But I'm going to try it. The Simple Secret to Flatter Abs it is called - from the website Diet.com.. and the secret is doing Kegels! Well, they'll help your sex life as well as your abs! It is supposed to reduce the stomach pooch, too. I had no idea they could do anything to enhance your appearance, but had thought about adding them to my routine anyhow. LOL! See the 1.5 minute long video for more info, esp. if you don't quite know what a kegel is. It is child-safe, btw. I mean, the LINK and video are.. Oh stop with the dirty minds! Go work out. :)

In another video on this diet.com site I learned that if we are doing a lot of crunches and front ab work-outs, but not doing equivalent back exercises, we can create more of a stomach pooch. We need to work out the back as well - like by doing the back extensions and bridges and cobras and superman and swimming exercises. I am going to do more to exercise my back for the core exercises to balance things out. Balance is the whole key.

Well, I learn something new every day! I knew kegels would good for sex, but not the abs. Woohoo. Multi-tasking is good! And yes, kegels do help with bladder control. After 4 kids, that's something I deal with. Ugh.

And great info on the core workouts. I didn't know that either. Very good to know since I suffer from a pouch as well as back issues. Need to work on that.

Sunday, June 17, 2012

February 22, 2007 - the day Nicholas was born.. Daddy with his newborn son.

June, 2012. Nicholas is 5 years old.

Nicholas helped wrap and decorate Daddy's package. His card is on the side.

I hear that Daddy opened his gift early this morning and have word that the hat fits and he likes it. :)

A Couple Favorite Meals (pix)

Sunday, June 17, 2012

I eat this about 4-5 mornings a week. - Steel cut oatmeal with maple syrup, strawberries, bananas and 1% milk. I have a glass of lemon juice and water with Truvia, too.

We are out of steel cut oatmeal today. My DH made regular flat oatmeal for me today and it's so mushy and disgusting to me. Ew.

Salmon with marinade of maple syrup and teriyaki, broccoli, and brown rice. Yum!
I get this about once a week - not always the same sides.

Yum, yum. Looks very good. I am so with you about rolled oats vs. steel cut. Steel cut only for me. I set them up in the rice cooler the night be for on the "hard rice" cycle. Porridge comes out too soft. Hard rice has just enough texture and crunch.
