DECORATING IS COMPLETE !!!

Saturday, November 26, 2011

emoticon I am so happy...Our home is all decorated for Christmas. It took me 2 days but I wanted to take it slow so I wouldn't get all tired our like other years. I'm getting smarter with age. I have a 6.5 Thomas Kincade tree in our music/computer room. As some of you may now, it was given to me by my friend Esther's daughter when she was cleaning out her Mom's home. This tree is pre-decorated and Arjay just put it on the pole and raised the whole tree up and secured it at the top of the pole. Pretty amazing. We will be getting a picture of it, hopefully with Thor laying on his blankie beside it. It's too low to the floor for him to lay "under" it but he seems happy to be along side of it.

Our other tree in the living room is 7 ft. tall. I thought i was 6.5 but it's taller than the other one. That one is only pre-lit. But I have years of memories with the ornaments on that tree. It starts out at the top with a Hallmark ornament of a red heart with two love birds on it and the year 1979. We were married Dec. 24 of that year. I also have our 3 white bells that were on our wedding cake. I have them tied together with red yarn hanging next to the heart. I also have 3 ornaments that my Mom sent me through the years. One is an angel with my name on it and it has a blue stone to represent a sapphire which is my birthstone. There are 6 ornaments on there that I made many years ago when I was being crafty. They were the kind you cut out and sewed together after filling them with batting. I made enough of those that year to give one to each of our choir members. They were fun to make. Other ornaments are just cute, pretty and funny. There are also a few there that friends have given us though the years. It's fun to walk down memory lane. Oh, and of course, I have candy canes on the tree as well. They are pretty old though so we will not give them out. I use the same ones each year.

I have two teddy bears sitting around with Santa hats on them. I have a big one Arjay gave me years back for Christmas and it's sitting in the corner of our futon here in the music room with his Santa hat. Guess he thinks he's an elf! LOL The other one is Poo Bear and he's sitting on the fireplace hearth in the living room wearing his Santa hat.

Of course I have our manger on the mantle of our fireplace. It always gets center stage. I have colored lights on the mantle as well and they light up the manger scene.

There are other touches of Christmas in our other rooms as well. Not over done. Just a touch or so in the bathroom ( yep, I know! ) There is also a small 6 inch tree on the chest of drawers in our bedroom. Other touches in the kitchen are chair pads with cows on them standing in the snow with sleds and such. I have three cut crystal bowls sitting around with red ornaments in them. One is on our table. I have to admit they really look nice. The other two are in the living room.

Well, now that I've written a small book, guess it's time to stop. Just wanted to give you some idea of how I decorate the House of Morgan!

I can hardly wait to see the pics! We are still debating about putting up a tree. I need to unpack the stockings and get them hung. Keeping Silk out of the tree is always a chore even at her age. The ornaments just fascinate her.

CHRISTIAN HUMOR

A Little Christian Humor

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering.
Finally fed up, God said, "THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job." So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

· They moused.
· They faxed.
· They e-mailed.
· They e-mailed with attachments.
· They downloaded.
· They did spreadsheets.
· They wrote reports.
· They created labels and cards.
· They created charts and graphs.
· They did some genealogy reports .
· They did every job known to man.
Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.
Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off.
Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.
Jesus just sighed.
Finally, the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers.
Satan started searching frantically, screaming: "It's gone! It's all GONE! I lost everything when the power went out!"
Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.
Satan observed this and became irate. "Wait!,'' he screamed. "That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don't have any?"
God just shrugged and said, JESUS SAVES.

CLEANING BEFORE DECORATING

Saturday, November 19, 2011

Hi everyone. Here it is November 19 already. I have a busy week coming up and decided to start cleaning today to make room for our new tree for the music/computer room. I am starting in that room. We have laminate flooring there, but the baseboards have caught all of Thor's fur, and probably some of our other cat's fur too although they have gone over the Rainbow Bridge. Yep, I can see some of Taffy and Tiger here too! emoticon Sweet memories.

So far I have done the baseboards and swept the floor. I also unloaded 4 shelves of books from a bookshelf so I can move the bookshelf to the other side of the room. Why? Because it was in the corner where I want to put our new tree, of course! I can only imagine what I will find behind that bookshelf! More kitty fur I'm sure. Next I have to use the shop vac on the speakers to my crate system. They are covered in fur too. I have vowed that once I get this fur up I will keep after it on a weekly basis.

I plan on putting up the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. I have another tree for the living room, but all the decorating will be done by the 30th of November. I like to have it up for all the Advent Season and the 27 th is the first Sunday in Advent. Our new tree is the kind that is already decorated and you just pull it up on the poll and hook it somehow! I'll ask Arjay to help with that. He's taller than me and the tree is 6 ft. I think. So Thor will have a bigger tree to lay under this year.

Well, that's all for now. I have to go give Thor his insulin and give me my lunch so I can get back to the music room. I'll report back later on tonight if I'm still moving. HA HA

Addendum: I am all finished and the floors are mopped and the books are back in the shelf. I decided I like the book case in it's new place and I will leave it there and put the captain chair where the book case was before. Less moving of furniture. Thor's happy now 'cause he can now get on the top shelf of the bookcase and survey his domain. He also has the blanket folded smaller next to the chair so he's ok with that. At least he showed me so by laying in it. I just remembered I have to wash the futon cover but that won't be hard. I'll do that maybe tonight or tomorrow afternoon while the games are on.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Wow, you are making me tired!!!! That is so cute that you have some reminders of your other kitties!!! Glad Thor has his "spot" and can survey all that is going on. I think I will be moving a bookcase this holiday too, to put the tree in a corner of the living room where I can see it better. Our son and family are coming for Thanksgiving so I can't start anything until after they leave on Friday.

Love the idea of a tree that is already decorated!!!!

Zoey says to tell Thor hello!

I have a tiny fake tree which I will probably put in my living area on December 12. That is my traditional day to decorate since it is my birthday!

My six kitties say hi to Thor!

I LOST INCHES

Monday, November 14, 2011

Had a great morning. Went to my WW meeting and I am still maintaining a pound below goal. My goal is 126 and I was 125! emoticon But wait, that's not all. I then went on to Curves and was measured before I worked out. I lost a total of 2.50 inches from August to now. I lost everywhere! I am so psyched. Here are my numbers.

Bust--- I lost 1/4 inch.
Waist--- I lost 3/4 inches.
Abs--- I lost 1/4 inch.
Hips...I lost 1/4 inch
Thighs x 2..I lost 1/2 inch
Arms x 2...I lost 1/2 inch
Weight ... I lost 2 pounds

I was really happy I lost because I haven't always been able to get to Curves three times a week. Sometimes I go two and sometimes 3 and sometimes 4. It all depends on what my schedule is like during the week. I do make it 3 times a week most of the time though. Here's to success!!! emoticon If I can do this anyone can. It is all doable. Never give up. I've been maintaining my wt. for over 4 years now. I picked one pound up for my WW goal than I want so that way when I weigh 125 it's exactly where I want to be. We can go up two pounds and still be considered maintaining. The same is down by 2 pounds. Now I have a balance and some leeway in my weight. emoticon emoticon

The First Step to Great Self-Esteem

by Jane Powell on November 14, 2011

“Value yourself.”

You have the right to be treated well, to value your own intelligence, to create a satisfying life for yourself and to value your own creativity. You are worthy of happiness, health, success and love. You deserve to have good friends, fulfilling personal relationships, and strong family bonds.

No matter how many difficulties you face in a day, remember to value yourself. You deserve to have a great relationship with you. Because, you are worth it!
