200 calories burned

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

I was falling asleep on the couch at naptime which is a big no no when doing daycare even with just a few here today, so I decided to get up and mute my tv and do my Wii biggest loser challenge game. (Monday I had to buy a new Wii for the games I already have because my 7 year old son broke the disc drive in the other Wii I had.)
I must say I am liking the new Wii better. This one has internet buttons and loads faster and seems to track what I am doing better thanks to the new sensor remote.
But now I have the challenge of playing all my games again and getting all new scores on everything. This was a plus for me. I took it as a challenge.

Monday I did my Wii challenge and at the end of the workout it gives you a score for how well you performed each workout and the combination of the lengths of workout session. I got a 121 on Monday for a 20 min workout, a 157 on Tuesday for a 22 min workout and 353 today for a 25 min workout. Todays workout was boxing with Jillian. Boy did I need boxing more than you could imagine.
I have a client who has been trying to turn in her 2 week notice with me that she is leaving but still has outstanding bills from Nov, Dec, and Jan. so I told her she could not leave till she was paid up and in order for the next provider to be paid by her child care assistance I have to sign her letter of 2 week notice and she takes the letter to assistance. I told her I would not sign till she was paid in full.
Mon and Tuesday night she argued with me on how much the invoices were for, granted I understand her argument on Monday because I made a clirical error, but to come back again the next day and fight with me more on care that I have already provided for her children and this is care for a 2 yr and 7 yr with tons of attitude and from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm mon to friday. So then she comes in again this morning as wants an itemized list of the overtime hours I am charging her. Errrrrr I wanted to scream. "Your two yr old is here 12 hours a day that is 2 hours overtime and 10 hours full time monthly billing. If this was any other job I would be paid overtime after the 8th hour!!!!

Put simply you got the care now pay up, and don't stand in front of me and tell your daughter you will give her money for girl scouts and money for book orders at school and not pay me since Nov and we are practically in Feb.

Well all should be going well now. She came in this morning and I gave her the new invoices broken into each month and she said ok I will have it tommarrow for you.

Plus last night after grandma picked up the kids I got back on my Wii did another 20 min of boxing and 20 min of yoga

Wow, I'm sorry to hear of your predicament. I had a client last year that was not paying either, but we had a contract. 1st day, warning, 2nd, 5% past due fee, 3rd day: no care until paid in full. They paid very quickly when I turned them away at the door on day 3.
Glad to hear you have a way to let out steam. Good luck, I'll be praying for you!

I'm glad you got that great stress reliever with you wii.
I have done in home daycare before, and if I wasn't getting paid, it would be a real struggle to stay upbeat. That can be a really high stress job. It can also be incredibly rewarding, but I remember days when I was just drained. It's great that you can vent about it by writing it down too. I know for me, that usually helps me to gain clarity on a feasible solution more quickly.
Good luck. Stay positive.

Do you have a signed contract by her? We just had a training last night on this subject & you would be surprised at how many are going through the same problem. If you don't have one, you need to get a signed document that states how much she owes you & when it need to be paid in full. You can take them to small claims court if you have signed documents.

What a weekend

Monday, January 24, 2011

First my back was not completly better but my husband got sick and when he gets sick he don't do anything. He did not even leave the bed for more than 3 hours ALL WEEKEND.
So I was left trying to clean house, cook, keep up with the kids, and try to work on daycare paperwork and taxes.
Normally I do my paperwork on the weekend while my husband has an eye on the kids so I can focus on it.
Then this morning when I got up he says your bra is not strapped all the way.
Then I turn around to turn off my alarm and he says your shirt is inside out and I changed, stormed out of the room and said that is what happens when I don't get enought sleep all weekend.
My weight loss for the week was the same as after 3 days.

My Wii even had just said that I lost weight on it too. Normally even if my scale shows a loss my Wii does not cause it is on carpet.
Plus the school called again this morning and told me my son is not behaving at school again and the waldorf school I want to get him into is not enrolling right now.
And a 7 year old daycare kids of mine puked on my carpet at 6:30 this morning only 15 min after mom left.
I hope the rest of the week goes better.

I tried to reflect and came up with nothing. I got some grocery shopping done but had to go back this morning for 6 more things I had forgotten. Plus I was just getting into the routine of getting up, get dressed, turn on Wii and do Wii Biggest Loser Challenge, then go shower and have breakfast.
But last night my Wii broke.
I called to see how to repair it and the company wants me to pay $86 to have it shipped back to them with three games and then they will return it and the games in 3-6 weeks.

You still did a great job! Try to take just a couple of minutes to reflect on the hard work you have done and what you have accomplished for yourself. It may really improve your outlook for the rest of the day. Have a great day!! Hope everyone gets feeling better at your house.

Six pounds in 3 days

Thursday, January 20, 2011

So I could not help myself. I know it has not been a week yet that I have been on the weight watchers system but my pants are getting baggy so I figured I would step on the scale and not expect much.

I was 276.8 on Monday morning this week and today (thursday morning) I am 270.0

I could not believe it. I did not even completly follow the weight watcher points yesterday because I was feeling so sick at the store that I thought I had to get something to eat and stopped to get a big mac (not that their very big anymore).

Plus yesterday morning my back was feeling great and I was almost able to move in all directions with no pain at all, then I took the daycare kids out to the back yard to play because it warmed up to 12 degrees and I slipped hard on the ice. Now it hurts even worse than it did at first.
I went to the store and got some therma care and icy hot patches/wraps hope they help today cause today I have 3 two year olds to care for on my own

I have been able to move enough today with the patch on my back. It is supposed to last 8 hours so I have 3 more to go. But it has been snowing all night and all day so when we went to take kids to school this morning things were not as slippery. Thank goodness. emoticon Now just waiting for all this winter mess to go away.

I know, I know still awhile away but one can hope. Who knows maybe it will be perfect for making a emoticon

So happy but so hurt at the same time

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

I am so happy to see I have so many people following my blogs or at least commenting on them. The comments really help to keep me going. In my line of work (home daycare) I don't get to socilize with a lot of adults very often so I love to log on and see that adults are talking to me. Call it strange but that is why I love checking email each day and logging on to here.

I love the kids but I need the adult time too. So nap time if all goes well and after daycare hours I am on here looking to see who has emailed and if anyone is up for chatting.

Hurt though cause I hurt my back yesterday. Don't know how I did it but it still hurts today. Ibuprofen and hot packs are my best friends today. Luckily I can move today. But I hope it will be all better tommarrow. First a week and a half of sore very painful cramping calfs from a 6 mile fast walk while on vacation due to error in ship excursions. One day pain free and then my back goes out.
At first I though it was just my seperated disc again that I have had since sometime in high school, but it is all the left side of my back and down into the left hip.

Last night was just awful. I was watching heavy on A &E and laying on the floor with a hot pack, all was feeling better until I had to get up to reheat the hot pack. I could bearly breathe let alone move cause the pain went into my lungs and all the way down to my feet on both sides. I don't know what it is but it is managable today as long as I don't lift the toddlers or bend too far down.

I hear you on the insurance issue. I'm in the same boat. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. If you haven't tried alternating hot and cold, you could try that. My chiro has had me do that before.
Glad we can be your social outlet:-) I have done daycare before too. (sometimes still feel like I am- for high school students:-) I'm kidding. I love my job, but sometimes even older kids require more supervision that you would think.

Well it is almost 8 pm here and I am feeling better, from about 4:30 pm till know I have been able to bend a little more and don't have too much pain except in my feet and ankles from the long day as always.

For those that said go see a doctor, I wish I could. I have no health insurance and can't afford insurance. I can get state insurance if I were pregnant but that in itself is so stupid. I can only get medical coverage if I am pregnant and that is only for a limited time. Granted I want to have more kids but after all the medical issues I had with each of the two kids I have been blessed to have.

For the one who asked about the ciropractor. I did used to go to the ciroprater twice a week and had an awsome ciropractor but again without a good insurance program I can't afford that one either.

Have you ever seen a chiropractor? I know mine works wonders for me, but you really have to get a good one! Also you ever try those icy hot pads that you peel off and put on your back? they work soooooooo good and get right into the muscles, you might want to wear one to work... I'd continue the motrin... but if it gets any worse you might want to see a doctor....
But honestly the chiropractor if u never tried one , they can be miracle workers!
I had a friend who had 2 physicians tell her she needed back surgery, she came to me in tears and asked for my chiropractors number... she saw him for 3 months and was fine! just have to find a good one a lot of quacks out there...
Good luck to you!

emoticon Ouch. You may want to really considr going to the DR if it does not get better in 3 days. Or try alternating heat and cold packs. Either way hope you fell better soon. Take Care

First short term and long term goals

Monday, January 17, 2011

Each week like I said I will post two short term goals and the one long term goal that I am working on.

Short term goals will be worked on one per week or until accomplished.
Long term goals will be a year or more away.

Short term goal number one:

Loose 2 pounds this week.
(Should not be too hard as I am making a change in my eating and making a goal of working out.)

Short term goal number two:

Exercise at least 3 times this week on my Wii.
(I did a 20 min session last night and loved it. I just bought Biggest Loser Challenge for the Wii and just tried it last night so it should keep me going for this week, plus I have probably 12 others to play)

So far I feel I can really achieve these short term goals. I think what I will do for each goal that I achieve is to put a peice of money into a jar in my room. If it was a hard challenge and I did it I will put a dollar bill in the jar. If it was an easy challenge and I did it I will put a quarter in the jar. However it I do not do it I will have to put $5 in the jar. Then when I get to my long term goal I will be able to spend it.

Which then brings me to my long term goal.
Since I just got back just over a week ago from a vacation/anniversary honeymoon/child care training cruise vacation with my husband my vacation time is used up. We decided while on the vacation that the next trip we take we are taking our kids to disney world. Plus my dad said that he will come with us and stay in the hotel so my husband and I can have 2 nights to ourselves and we plan on having 7 days at DisneyWorld and possibly a day or two at a few other parks as when we take vacation it will be for two weeks.
So my long term goal is to weight 220 or less (more so I can be comfortable on the plane and in the water park and for my health and to show my dad that weight loss is possible as he is working on loosing weight for this goal too.)
