Being a coffee drinker, I do like my flavored creams. Well so does my rat terrier Ringo that is his favorite night time drink with me. So as part of my new changes instead I made a Keurig flavored caramel coffee tonight and yes with no cream. Well along comes Ringo and even though I told him we are going to try coffee now with no cream thinking he wouln't drink it finished my whole cup. Well guess he wants to diet too.

I think I would have to move I love our 3 so much, can't imagine not having them here. The puppy is so cute. Visitation is better than none though.

I want a dog so badly. My profile image is the puppy my boy friend bought me for Christmas. It is a pure bred shiza and was almost $1000 because of its color. My landlord would not let me have her. I cried and begged, even threatened to move out. I have been here 16 years. He even told her what it cost him, she didn't care, NO DOG. His son has the dog and I have visitation rights. emoticon

I can't have regular coffee so have changed to decaf. Hubby also drinks it in the morning with me and we find it is ok. I love my chia teas and cappicino so have found a powder form that goes in water and takes 2 tsp. per cup of water. 60 calories. So I indulge in that every couple of days and work into my calories. emoticon

I love my keurig but haven't been able to take it black yet. I've gone to using fat free half and half and am down to a teaspoon of splenda. Giving up sugar is a primary goal but don't know if I can give it up in my coffee.

I am glad you are feeling better. My Mom has type II diabetes. I don't know what she is on. I don't know anything about diabetes, I am so glad my SIL is an ER nurse and handles all that stuff.

Taking it with food is very important. You might ask your doctor about metformin ER. It tends to be a lot easier on the stomach. I have been using it for months with no issues.
Good luck in getting your blood sugar under control.

Trouble taking Metformin

Saturday, January 05, 2013

Dr. put me on metformin and I had been taking 500mg now he wants 1000 mg 3x a day and I am feeling so bad. Went back down to 500mg this morning and drank a protien shake for breakfast hopefully this helps.

I would talk with your Dr. before adjusting the dosage. It takes a few weeks to adjust to a new medication sometimes. I think I drive the nurses in my Dr. office batty with so many questions. emoticon

Anytime you start a new medication you can have problems with it. If it is controlling your blood sugar then follow your doctors direction.
