Frozen.... continued

Went to the ice caves on Tuesday and talk about frozen; however, we weren't frozen...for once! Spent 5 hours out there on Lake Superior. Just amazing that we could walk on the lake and more amazing at the stunning beauty of the ice. Now we have snow. Great snowshoeing but I need to drive down to the cities. My son blew out his knee snowboarding and he will need surgery and I will need to help with the babies. I was going down next weekend to help as my daughter-in-law is heading to Vegas. Now it looks like I will need to be there all week. Arghhh... those kids who I love dearly wear me out. So today, I got a head start and did some meal prep. Made 8 crockpot meals that I froze. Tomorrow, I will get some cookie dough and muffins made. At least it won't be so taxing trying to cook and take care of 3 little girls.

Today was my third "wellness" day.... thanx Dulcinea, that really does help flipping the switch in my brain. I completed 24 hours of the fast and decided I wanted more to eat. I made a spinach salad! That's what I was craving. Yipee... emoticon.

My snowshoe excursion kicked my arse today... had to break trails as we got so much snow. I am just plain tuckered.

Frozen... not the Disney version

We've been consistently below zero for weeks. For some reason, -17º sent me over the edge today. It's sunny and I was just hoping for a pleasant snowshoe excursion. So for now I have burrowed under the comforter in bed and have been playing on the computer ever since. It is nearly 11am. I'm delaying taking the pup out for as long as I can. I rarely spend this much time in bed but for some reason it just feels luxuriant.. So here I stay.

Yesterday was a productive day. Made 5 new pieces and as soon as I posted one, I sold it!

Also made pretzel bread, chocolate chip cookies and a great steak dinner. On non fast days, I think I am eating too much. Fasting days are feeling like deprivation again. My mind just plays evil tricks on me. I need to psych myself into the positive thoughts ...fasting days=cell reparation days. I lost another pound and am down to 145. you would think I would be tripping the light fantastic. So today is a fasting day and my body is busy healing itself and that I will honor.

Today:
roasted red pepper tomato soup, pretzel bread and 2 clementines

yoga and snowshoeing and do my best to stay warm

    Whew! That picture of the ice sent shivers down my spine!
I grew up in Wyoming and I remember those endless sub-zero spells.

end of the month... and the scale moved!!!!

finally, after all these months, the scale has moved in my favor. 145! it took upping fasting to 3 days a week. i did gain weight over the holiday. i probably went up as high as 152 in early january. so it took the time to get back to 147. and now to finally a break through. i am nine pounds from goal!!!!

we are in the end run around here. we are 28 days from launch. we leave march 1st for southern new mexico. we will be in the southwest for 3 months. my connection to sparkpeople will be sketchy i am sure. how often i will be able to connect to internet... well... i am just not sure.

beautiful sunrise this morning, but it is -16º. so tired of this. i won't go snowshoeing, probably just a short walk with the pup. still working in my studio and getting ready for our next show on March 1st after the show... we head out on the road

going to get the house clean and laundry done, help hubby with the groceries when he brings them in.

today:
•yogurt, barley cereal, blueberries and strawberries, coffee
•clementines and chocolate chip cookie
•zuppa toscana and bloomin' onion cheese bread

housecleaning and zumba and a short walk

    Good luck on your plan. Just budgeting the calories everyday to 1200 should also do the trick. Whatever you choose, just do it. DECIDING is 90% of the struggle. Now the last 10% is faithfully following your plan. I am on Day #175 of a 218 day journey to get to and stay at goal weight. Write everything down. Check in with your doctor. Blood tests will tell you if you are doing any harm.

it's been 10 days

10 days since i have last been here. my granddaughters wore me out, but we had fun and then i was able to escape these subzero temps by flying down to naples, florida... just for 4 days but it was a break. had to get back here to do taxes this coming monday. i will head back down for a a few more days in a couple weeks. my dad has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis from asbestos exposure. at least we know now why his breathing isn't getting any better. so in these next weeks before we head out on our 3 month road trip, i will try to help my folks out with attorneys and whatever else i can do. cooking helps them out a lot. i even had a successful fasting day on monday.

fasting today and saturday also.... i am sure i will see some loss this week. tomorrow the temps will hit 30º but then we head right back down to negative temps for highs and lows are in the negative 20s. i think i will head to the ice caves tomorrow and get sitka out for a long hike.

today:
spaghetti squash, spinach, marinera sauce, mozzarella cheese and a slice of bread

On the mend and a good fasting day

the doc determined it was viral bronchitis... but who knows. i still ended up with an asthma in haler. i've been out each since snowshoeing of course the temps outside have warmed up considerably... we're in the 30s! so on the mend and it feels good to be moving again.

had a good fast today. 485 calories. heading down to take care of my 3 granddaughters for a couple days... so not sure whether or not i will get much sp time. i probably won't fast again until friday and probably won't get 3 days in.

was busy in the studio today. needed to finish some custom pieces that will need to be delivered.
when we arrive in the cities.

it will be nice to head out of town or more so just get out of the house after having been housebound through our deep freeze and bronchitis.

Today:
•roasted red peeper tomato soup, home made bread 485cal

i am past 24 hours... think i will have an apple yet tonight
