A joke

Friday, January 20, 2012

A female CNN journalist heard about a
very old Jewish man who had been going
to the Western Wall to pray, twice a day,
every day, for a long, long time.

So she went to check it out. She went to
the Western Wall and there he was,
walking slowly up to the holy site.

She watched him pray and after about 45
minutes, when he turned to leave, using
a cane and moving very slowly, she
approached him for an interview.

"Pardon me, sir, I'm Rebecca Smith from
CNN. What's your name?

"Morris Feinberg," he replied.

"Sir, how long have you been coming to
the Western Wall and praying?"

"For about 60 years."

"60 years! That's amazing! What do you
pray for?"
"I pray for peace between the Christians,
Jews and the Muslims. I pray for all the
wars and all the hatred to stop. I pray for
all our children to grow up safely as
responsible adults and to love their
fellow man. I pray that politicians tell us
the truth and put the interests of the
people ahead of their own interests."

"How do you feel after doing this for 60
years?" she asked.

"Like I'm talking to a f*****g wall," he replied.

On track so far. Walked for 20 minutes and plan to walk another 20 on my way home tonight. I could take the subway, but I have to get some exercise in somehow today, so I won't take the train and walk home instead. Meeting up with a few friends tonight to eat fondue, this definitely a major indulgence, but I'm restricting myself throughout the day in order to make room for the calories.

You inspired me with the fondue! I am going to do it over weekend too! Of course it is not something we can do every day, but with moderation it will be ok! emoticon

Great way to get in exercise by walking to and from work! I have about a 15 min walk to work, but don't like to walk in the winter. Sounds like you have a plan for dinner, too-just don't arrive too hungry! Hope you have fun with your friends tonight. You are fitting healthy choices into your lifestyle and that will bring success!

Well mostly stayed on track again. Went to to gym and used the rowing machine for 30 minutes. I tried to push it a bit hard so I would burn some extra calories. Then when I got home I cooked up a frenzy. I made a low cal crust less spinache mushroom quiche and big pot of tomato vegetable soup with tofu, for the amount of calories it sure is filling. Anyhow goodnight all.

Mostly stayed on track today. Went to the gym before work, 30 mins on the treadmill at a fairly fast pace. Ate all my pre planned meals for the day to stay within my calorie range. The only downfall was those darn white chocolate covered pretzels my coworker has on her desk, they are freaking irresistible!

Had the day off and did a ton of cooking for the week. All healthy meals planned out. Exercised for hour, was a pretty good day overall. Now if I can only stick to my goal of getting to sleep before 11:30...

Sounds like you are doing great...planning healthy meals for the week on your day off? How awesome are you?.

And sleep is so key...hoping you can hold to that goal as well. Good quality sleep really does help with weight loss. Weird but true.
