I feel much better today than I did yesterday so I know I'm getting better. Didn't sleep much at all last night, but I woke up to beautiful weather today. Went to PT did all my exercises. Stuck with my nutritional plan and had a good day overall.

Day 9 post op

hmmm. Starting to get a little frustrated with the pain in my leg. I asked the physical therapist how long it takes for the pain to subside and she said she can't say because everyone is different. Said for some people it takes up to 6 weeks! Then when she saw the look on my face she said not to get discouraged because I'm doing really well and she thinks it won't take that long. She said for some people the pain the leg pain post op is so bad they cry when bending and straightening. So I guess I should be grateful it is not as bad as it is. The thing that sucks is I can't get a decent night's sleep. I couldn't get to sleep last night and was wide awake until about 5. I slept until 9 and then got up ate breakfast and got ready to go out for the day. Had a lot of little errands to run, bank, pharmacy, doctor's appointments, PT and was home by 3:30. I crashed on the couch and slept again until 7pm. I've been really good staying on track with my calories and nutrition. I've been trying to drink more milk thinking it will help my bones heal faster from the surgery. I don't know if it really does much but I do feel healthy.

Getting better and better. I can switch to Advil once my pain meds run out, so that's progress. Slept in today. Ate a healthy breakfast, spent the whole morning on the phone catching up with friends and family. Finally did my exercises at 2. A little stir crazy given the nice weather. But I can fill up my time catching up with chores. Have good healthy day all.

Day 7 post op

Slowly getting better. I still can't walk without crutches but bending and straightening is getting better, still very painful, but getting better. PT shouldn't be called physical therapy but pain and torture. The therapist is the nicest girl and really good but it's still very intensely painful. I think the pain is getting less and less, but it's hard to tell. I'm doing my exercises everyday as I'm prescribed and hopefully I'll be able to start putting weight on my leg by the end of the week. The physical therapist said I can also start on the exercise bike soon. One step at time. On another note, going on a job interview on crutches and high on pain meds didn't seem to hurt my chances. I got a job offer! Ha!

Getting better little by little. Good day. Not as much pain in the middle of the night, was finally able to sleep mostly. I woke up around 5 and watched a little tv, suddenly i heard a car crash outside. Called 911 and watched from the window, i hope the driver is ok. Went back to sleep until 10:30ish. Then I did my exercises, had breakfast, filed my taxes and made a bunch of family and friends phone calls. Napped on the couch for an hour. We decided to go out to dinner, so we met up with our friends just 1.5 blocks away from our apartment. It still took me almost 15 minutes to walk 1.5 blocks on crutches, but everyone understood of course and walked slower. It was hard sitting in the restaurant. I could not find a comfortable position, but it was only a couple of hours. I got home, did my exercises again got ready for bed and now wrapping up all the loose ends for the night.
