As I enter middle age, I often find myself thinking about the impact I make on the world around me. I know people watch how I respond and react to major events in my life. They also see my day-to-day living. This holds most true of the teenagers and twenty-somethings living in my home.
My journey to healthy living is no exception. My friends, family, and co-workers know my goal to lose weight and make healthier choices. They see the choices I make and these choices impact my integrity. Do I follow through with what I say I'm going to do? Do my actions match my words? Will I choose what's right? As I embark on this journey to a new and improved lifestyle, these thoughts invade my mind and provide motivation.
You always have a choice. Choices always have consequences. These consequences may be good or bad. This we know. Did you ever stop to think how long those consequences will last? How many are impacted by your choices? You may think your unhealthy choices will only affect you, but you can be certain that others are watching. Those choices may impact generations to come.
Just something to keep in mind when you consider choosing TV over an evening walk or a candy bar over yogurt and fruit.
