Thursday, November 18, 2010

Need to be there at 7 am...Hubby would watch the kids on side lines til I am done...then can nurse baby when I am done... Hope she doesn't cry to much while I am gone.

also it says $25 to run and $20 to walk? What if I am combo?? lol

Go for it! Sign up for the run. I think you'll surprise yourself. If you sign up for the run you can walk but if you sign up for the walk you can't run. a 5k probably won't take too long, even if you walk. As long as you nurse beforehand the baby should be fine. How old is he/she? You could always pump extra just in case she gets fussy... Anyway good luck! emoticon emoticon

That's my plan. I'm only on W3D2 of the C25K program. I figure if I do a 5K (walk/run) now I'll have a baseline for when I've finished the training program.

If you sign up for run, you can walk or run as much as you want.

HOWEVER, if you sign up for walk, you will be disqualified if you run. So best to sign up for run realizing you may not have the best time!

Go for it!! 5ks are so fun. Everybody, so supportive. There will be people slower than you, I'm sure.
This season, my locality had a walking division so I was a speed walker. Next season, I'm a runner. I saw many people combining walking and running ( I wan't allowed to run because I was in competition). I hope the whole family has fun!! You are setting a great example for your kids.

I weighed 248 when I delivered my daughter 4.5 months ago...TODAY I am 195 :) This is what 55 lb loss looks and feels like! I love spark people!!!

So proud of how far I have come! I am on week 3 of the couch to 5k challenge, I am doing a workout video monday-friday and usually walking on the weekends as a family

Thanks for all the inspiration everyone!! Still a good 20-30 lbs left to loose :) emoticon

UGly days...How do you deal ?

Friday, November 12, 2010

ok so I have lost a lot of weight and still feel ugly or fat or just blah when I look in the mirror. Shirts either are baggy on me or are to snug and cling to my muffin top. I HATE it I just want to cry most days.

I do not feel confident in my body. All I see are the bad areas

HOW DO I cope with this? Anyone else?

Good grief! You've lost 50 pounds and you're down on yourself!!!!

If you can't think of anything positive, I'm sure that we at SP can, and in fact, already have, in these other posts...

C'mon, girl! You can DO it! Open your eyes! emoticon

Do you have some photos from before you started here? If so take those out and look at how far you've come. Also treat yourself to a new outfit. You deserve it! emoticon

Positive thinking is what gives me the strength on bad days or a few bad days when things seem to come to a grinding halt. Think of all you have done to get where you are!! Think of the fact that you know if you stop you will feel far worse from the constant guilt . Think Positive !!

Rock on!!! emoticon emoticon

You have to make yourself love yourself... if that makes any sense. Every time you start thinking about "I hate my stomach" make yourself say "I love my stomach" instead. Trust me, it works. I used to be the worst at criticizing myself. I would bash myself into millions of tiny, self-hating pieces.. that is until a good friend told me to start replacing all negative things with positive... You wouldn't believe the difference it makes. What I do is, every time I think "wow, I hate my butt" (as an example) I stop myself and I will say "I love my butt" 3 times! I will repeat whatever I love, several times to make myself get the point!

I hope that helps!

You have come so far and look really great! You have had 2 babies, and you may not ever look exactly like you used to. But you are healthier and working your way back in shape!!! Think of how much you've accomplished and keep your head up!!! I know it's hard, but letting ourselves slip into negative self-talk can lead to us being destructive again to our bodies. *hugs* Hang in there!!!

At this point it is all in your head so you have to let go of the negative feelings and celebrate your accomplishments, I think sometimes we all have a distorted self image and no one can change that but ourselves. It is much easier to be critical of ourselves. Celebrate how far you have come and imagine how great you will feel as you make progress. the important thing is that you don't give up, you can do this. Let go of the negative and allow yourself to be proud of how far you have come.

You just stop that destructive kind of thinking. You are beautiful within yourself and you have to believe in that. No one is going to do this for you - it is up to you. Now, go get a nice hair cut or trim. Have your nails done or do them yourself. Go to the Thrift Store - you will be amazed how many cute tops you can buy for only a couple of dollars. Find a store by you and go regularly. You don't have to please anyone but you - now get busy and start by telling yourself 'hey baby, I ain't so bad after all'...and believe it!

At a plateau! ugh

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

I have been loosing weight steadily and now I am stuck!
Been doing the C25K training I just finished week 3 (plan to redo week 3...still struggling with the 3 full minute jogs!) I have also been walking more.

Today I got in the Biggest loser boot camp video from netflix so I popped it in and away I went! I feel great I did the whole first day with no least the jogging helped my endurance :)

emoticon please go down!

I am reading the spark as well...just started chapter 5! GREAT read

It was bound to happen - you've been so consistent!!! You are doing great, the plateaus get us when we get depressed and then go off plan. Power through it and you'll get past it. emoticon

Yeah, me too. Up a pound last week, down a pound this week. I'm not too worried because my belt is loser. Haha, that halloween candy isn't helping me either.

You are doing great though. You're very insirational and are quite the go-getter. Whenever I think about going for that extra snack, I ask myself what you are doing right now. Every time I turn around I see you losing weight, running more, etc. Keep it up!

All in all a great day even with the COLD temp of 45 degrees!

Did have Chinese food last night and heavy pancakes this morning BUT have to say YUMMY!!! healthy living starts again in the am :)

Here is to a great week this week!! Everyone keep up the good job!!

i love pancakes & chinese food (not at the same time lol) so i know how it is to splurge. the weather here was beautiful so today i went for a short bike ride - only 3.54 miles, but there were several hills, so that helped. Wisconsin has cold winters, so it's always nice to have sunny days during November. have a great week! DC
