Congrats on the pregnancy! Weight loss will definitely have to wait but keep up as much as you can with eating healthy and exercising. Even when you're exhausted and only want to eat tacos, you'll find that the extra push to be healthy makes you feel better. Have you checked out Babyfit? If you join, check out a team I started over there "Fit Pregnancies." My screen name is the same there, so give me a holler if you want to join but can't find it. Great news and again congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy for you!! I bet you are so excited. What did your parents say? Your Mom is going to have a great time buying for her little grandchild. My Mom was knitting blankets and sweaters, etc even when I went into labor. Was so funny. Now is even more important for you to get those healthy veggies and fruits in. Sending you lots of tender hugs!!! YEA!!! Pat

Way to go Amber. That is just great news to hear. Keep it up and you may have to alter that dress. Not good on the wallet but good in a measurement of success.

Congratulations! Keep up the great work! A bridesmaid dress is far more important than a sundress, but, that's what I'm using to measure my success. My husband bought me a gorgeous dress for Christmas, it fits, but I would be much happier if it fit better! Good luck!

My poor Kitten - Athena

Thursday, January 24, 2008

Ok my kitten is only 4 months old, and we noticed she lost feeling in her face, the left side. Her eye is drooping and so is her ear. I am very upset about this. I took her to the vet last night and he said hopefully its only an ear infection and that the Med's should clear it up in a week to ...3 months.. But if it gets worse, it may be neurological and she may have a tumor... SO here 's to hoping she will get better. I love my little fur baby :)

Oh my that is horrible! Poor dear! What kind of ear infection did the doc say (I'm a vet tech...well moved so not currently working)? If you need anything feel free to mail me. /huggles to both of you (and a big kiss to Athena!) I hope all goes well and she recovers quickly!

I am so sorry! I hope Athena has a speedy recovery and that it's just an ear infection like the vet said.

Please let us know how she is doing later, you are both in my prayers!

I am so sorry to hear about Athena's illness. I hope it is just an ear infection. Those things can really be tough to knock out, though, so hang on. She is young and should recover quickly after it's gone. I will send positive energy her way and pray for her. I know how hard it is to lose a kitten, I got adopted by a lovely muted calico kitten who found me after work at my car. She had FIV, and we only had her for 4 months, but we made them as full and happy as we could. I am sure Athena will recover and grow to be a wonderful, beautiful, healthy cat.

oh no! I'm so sorry! I know what it's like to get attached to our beloved furry friends. I have two cats of my own (Noggin and Tybalt). I've been so very lucky with both of them. I really hope for the best for your Athena. I'll pass on good thoughts and wishes for a quick and wonderful recovery

so much desire to lose, but so lazy

Friday, January 18, 2008

OK this is my first blog...ever.

Well I have a bridesmaids dress i need to wear in february... it wont zip. That should be enough motivation to lose, or so you would think. Well i know i need to lose like 5 pounds or so to make it fit. But whenever I say I will do something about it I am so sleepy, I dont want to do anything. I want to sleep all day and I am very grumpy to.

Well at least I have been trying to not eat too much, and all this week I ate at home (except last night office function). BUT compared to eating out like everynight that is great!

Well I hope i can get motivated soon...

Yes I do know the lazy thing, I have been using the excuse of foot surgery for the past 2 years as the reason. But take it one day at a time. I too am preparing for a wedding, my daughters in April. I want to look good, have my dress, and hope it will be too big by then lol, then I can go shopping again, at least I get out and walk the many malls.
Blessings to you!

I know, for me, before I started working out, I was so tired, I couldn't get into it. I was tired, lethargic and now I was expecting myself to wake up at 4 AM so i could work out?? O.o'

But having done it now for two weeks (and as others have said, being aware of what I am putting into my body) I wake up 5 minute before my alarm goes off and if I TRY to sleep in (as I did today) my body will have none of it! It's like my body is telling me "yo! get up!!"

Be patient with yourself. Start out slow. Half an hour walk. Play DDR for half an hour or something - just go slow. Soon you will find it's easier than you thought.

Stick with it! We are here for your support if you need us!

I agree with Trucowgal, as well as counting calories, make sure you have excellent nutrition (and plenty of water) - it really does make a difference to how you feel. Is there anything else that could be making you feel like this? Not getting enough sleep? S.A.D? Health problems? I've always hated exercise but I changed my diet first, then added exercise. It's still a chore sometimes but mostly I actually miss having a workout if I can't do it for some reason. You have to make exercise a part of your lifestyle - do it slowly if you have to - no harm in taking baby steps if you need to. Good luck, you CAN do it. :)
