BLC25 Fitness Test

I am happy to report that I did excellent on all 4 of the fitness test. I won't lie my arms and abs is achy for all the modified pushups and crunches I did but it feels good knowing I did excellent.
I can't wait to try it again at the end to see improvements.

Slowly but Surely!

Okay so we starting March tomorrow and what did I accomplish so far this year:
- well I've lost 5 pounds
- had many small victories that will lead to major ones
-focusing on the big picture with small steps.
-temptation is evil and is temporary!
-logging in nutrition everyday.
-making friends with the right healthy foods
-log in to spark everyday
-walk away from negativity and temptation situation.
-happier and have more patience( well it's getting there)
-didn't give up or quit in BLC, I I usually fade away.
- don't make excuses
-organize and clean more( thanks to blc)
- more fitness than last year but still need improvements
- this month I will lose more than 5 pounds!!

- oh and realizes that is a pain in the arse to blog on an iPhone due to keep hitting done button before I am complete.
Ok that is all for today!

    Sounds like you have accomplished a lot so far this year. You want to come join in on my 100 Day challenge with me or cheer me on starts tomorrow (March 1) would love to have you- you are such an inspirational person that pushes me to keep going because you never give up. I am proud of what you have accomplished this year logging in everyday, logging in your food, organize and clean - these are major accomplishments so don't downplay them be proud of them.

Help needed!!! What's a good heart rate monitor?

I have a Polar RS200SD that I've been having for 6 years now and the battery is dead.
I can change the chest strap battery myself but need to send the display( wrist watch part) off to service
for new battery. I was thinking should I send it off or look for a new one?
I am sure it would be cheaper to just get this one working again.

So. I was just wondering what you all had and what you liked etc? Give me some ideas as to what to do.

    Depends on what you want. I have 3 different HRMs (all Polar) and keep them in my gym back at work, in the car, and at home to make sure I always have one on hand.

My go to one is the Polar RS100 watch. But what I've found is that the sensor is the most important part. I recently bought the Polar H7 Bluetooth Sensor and love it. It can synch up with any of the watches AND it can synch up via Bluetooth to my iPhone. I downloaded a free app called Digifit and it is just amazing! Not only does it give you a real time reading of your HR, but it plots out graphs and can even use your GPS to map out where you go.

    I took mine to Batteries Plus and the guy changed it for me. He said it would void the warranty, but it wasn't under warranty anymore so he did it. It was only $4. I have the Polar FT7. You may want to take it there and see what they say. I did have to re-enter my information again, but it was no big deal.

2014 Kicking it off Right with BLC

BLC24 - WEEK - BLC-WIDE WEEKEND CHALLENGE

Time to kick off the New Year right with BLC, time to stop messing around and to just DO IT!


2 - 2 be your best in 2014, you need a plan. Any plan starts with GOALS. Make them S.M.A.R.T. and post them either with your team, on your sparkpage on in a blog. SMART worksheet attached (One time 100 points)

0 - Organize - In with the NEW and out with the OLD, time to organize for success! Spend 14 minutes a day organizing...putting healthiest foods up front, prepping lunches or dinners for the week, setting workout clothes in easy to reach places, etc. Set yourself up for success in 2014. (25 points per day organizing)

1 - Choose ONE thing that is holding you back from reaching your goals-- nighttime snacking, sweets, not getting enough sleep, etc. Identify what is holding you back and GET points for working on it each day. Bonus points if you succeed and eliminate it completely this weekend! (25 points for each day you eliminate what is holding you back; 100 points for being successful at eliminating it ALL FOUR DAYS!)

4 - Have at least 4 servings of vegetables per day. Try to pick a variety, or a preparation that you have never done before. Don’t forget to share new veggie recipe ideas with your team mates! (25 points per day for eating 4 servings)

NOTE: THIS CHALLENGE IS TO BE COMPLETED FRIDAY, JAN 17th, THROUGH MONDAY, JANUARY 20TH!!

Scarlet Seals 24 Pre Start Challenge

S – SIZE. You will receive 150 points if you take your “BLC 24 BEFORE” body measurements. This is a great way to see progress when that mean ole’ scale isn’t on your side!!! One time 150 points.

E – ENCOURAGE your fellow SEALs by adding them as your friend and leave them with either a comment or goodie. 10 points per SEAL. (Maximum 280 points)

A – ARRANGE your menu (to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) for the first week of BLC 24 and post it to the chat thread. One time 420 points.

L – LOVE. Come up with how you will reward yourself if you do all the daily activities in a given week AND along the next 12 weeks. Post your rewards in a BLOG entry to receive 100 points.

S – SNAPSHOT… take a “BLC 24 BEFORE” picture and let everyone know that you snapped away. You WILL want to see your progress in pictures at the end of 12 weeks!

EXTRA CREDIT. Blog your 12 week plan for success. Be specific. Don’t limit yourself to minutes of fitness minutes and calories consumed. Really think about it! How can you fit in the minutes that you need in your busy day? How will you be sure to have quality food options? Post your 12 week plan in a BLOG entry to receive 150 points.
