Studying for Work

Saturday, October 25, 2014

I'm studying for another license required by my work. I really don't like the subject matter but I have to do it and it's time to get serious and stop dilly-dallying.

p.s. sniff sniff, good taste in the fleur de lys, but it can be colorful you know LOL I like them with lil griffins n unicorns n swans n eaglesn junks... It's funny with some crests that have like crescent moons turned with the arc on bottom, like lil thrones or something. But looking up all these peoples' coats of arms or toothpastes, they still leave us wondering who Harold is? :) Isn't he scandinavian?

Bottled Salad Dressing is Nasty!

Monday, November 11, 2013

I don't know why I keep trying it. Dressing is so easy to make and there are really only a couple of bottled dressings that I like.

I love bleu cheese/roquefort but nobody seems to be able to make an edible version for sale in the store.

Have been making mine for years and will not use any unless I can't make the kind that I want and then I only buy Newman's dressing and am picky at those too.

I love Bleu Cheese too. I have just started crumbling a little on my salads and have a bit of oil & vinegar. Try it! emoticon

And they all start with SOY OIL! ack!

I'd rather make my own. I will buy one or two commercial preps... but mostly, it's from my own kitchen.

What an absolutely beautiful day!

Sunday, November 10, 2013

I can't believe how long it's been since I've blogged.

It's gorgeous today in Southeast Texas. Just took the old girl for a walk. Took us 30 minutes to walk about a mile but she's feeling her age. emoticon

It is nice during the day and cool at night here. 60s and 30s. We are enjoying it before the cold weather returns. Getting ready for winter.

Guess I should own up to being a weenie

Sunday, October 16, 2011

Thanks to those who supported me about the eye dr (and not for laughing emoticon).

Turns out my eyes are perfectly healthy. I haven't had a full screening in over 16 years and had never had my eyes dilated. That wasn't what I was scared about. My ability to read has diminished a great deal over the last two years and I was scared that there was something wrong with my eyes. Just turns out they are over 40. I don't really even need to upgrade my glasses (thank goodness) unless I want an updated look. I was just really nervous about the doc telling me something else. I've been extremely blessed by God with really great health and have been waiting for something to break down. Guess He's not finished with my body yet! Guess I have all the more reason to take better care of it.

Yes, I know this blog is ancient...perhaps to spark you to write more? Or am I here because like Mt Everest, it's there. Actually the weenie thing...Does Oscar Meyer know about this...you do not meet the fat nor the additive requirements! So, you need to write a blog retracting this blog? Take care. Hope you get feeling better soon. And, is it time for another eye exam? :)

I know about being anxious for those eye doctor visits though. I don't think you are a weenie. Lots of people get cataracts and other stuff. I always get a little nervous too. Glad you are okay.

Appointment with the Eye Doctor

Thursday, September 29, 2011

I have an appointment with an optometrist in about an hour. I haven't been in a few years and have only needed my glasses for reading and even then really only for the last year or so. I don't know why, but I am really nervous about this appointment. Seriously. I think I would rather that I was going to the gynecologist today.

So? How did your eye appointment go? Inquiring minds and Sparkie friends would like to know. emoticon I hope it went well and your nervousness was all for nothing. I have to say.....It's a toss up as to which one I fret over the most between the eye doctor and the gynecologist. I guess I just have issues from one end to the other. LOL I hope you're doing okay. Take care. emoticon Cheryl

it'll be ok......... even if you get scolded that means you get to chose a different dr. for your next visit !!! it seems doctors have forgotten we are their employer and we can fire them when they don't behave !!! lol

good luck and let us know how it goes

I felt the same way when I went to the eye doctor. Kept thinking I was going to get scolded because I'd been neglecting my eyes. Don't worry ! The doctor is there to make sure you're wearing the right prescription for your eyes.

Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprized ! I was when I went last year. I'd been having problems reading and figured that I needed a new prescription. Well, turns out my old lens were too strong !!! My eyes have actually gotten better as I've gotten older.

GO FIGURE !! LOL !!! So who knows, maybe you're eyes will improve too. If not, they will once you have an improved prescription.
