Feeling a lot better today!

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Well I am feeling a lot better today. Anxiety is gone. Sometimes just talking about it to your hubby and sleeping it off helps. Work is always a scary thing for me, especially with the new reposponsibilites this year. It's a lot of pressure, but I am ready for it.

I'm feeling like my body is in a slightly better physical shape in my pregnancy than when I started out, possibly because I am getting past morning sickness and have more energy coming at me. This morning I felt sooo good. I hope it stays that way. Only thing is that I have to go to the dentist and get fillings, then find out if I need blood thinners during the pregnancy- long story.

Hugs!

Tired and Anxious

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

I have always battled with anxiety about pretty much everything. Work, life, what do people think of me, and now, how will I cope with my self and my anxieties now that I am pregnant and a lot more stressed about the upcoming school year. Now I have higher responsibilities and more to worry about. I keep telling myself... what does worrying do? Will it change anything? I thought I might give myself a break from anxiety since I am out for the summer, but I find myself continuing to find things to get anxious over every couple of days. If it's not one thing, it's another. I am so fearful of painful criticism. I drive myself nuts sometimes. Sometimes it helps to vent and just let it out so I don't hold it in causing a large breakdown later. I definetly have to get this under control so that I don't go insane and the baby does not come out anxious. Sorry to vent so much!

Hey Aly, I know how you feel. You know that I go through the same thing. It seems like a never-ending battle. It affects our lives and our relationship with others. I know it sounds impossible but try not to worry too much. You are an amazing teacher and will be an even more amazing mommy! I`ll pray for God to take your anxiety away!

I hope you can find something to ease your stress levels, especially before the baby comes. Then you will be limited in time to do for yourself.

I would suggest meditation, prayer, positive self affirmations & making a collage of helpful soothing images.

Since I'm homesick for WA & live in AZ, I put pictures of soothing & happy things on my screensaver page.

May you find peace within that lasts. Sending prayers & good thoughts your way.

Oh Aly, its so hard coping with life as it happens without inventing possible future worries too. I'm sorry you have such a tough time with this issue, and wish I could help.

Where does all this anxiety come from? Lean on that lovely man of yours and all the supportive friends and family you have and trust your faith which I know is strong. Believe in yourself and treasure today as its given to you - I know this is easier said than done but you are such a lovely young lady, focussed and committed - how can you possibly doubt your abilities as a mummy - you are both going to be wonderful.

I hope you find your inner peace - and I suspect that once your baby arrives, all your perspectives will change and suddenly everything will fit and make perfect sense!

A friend of mine attended Yoga For Pregnancy and swore by it - worth a try?

Love M x

What to eat??

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

Well, the struggle to figure out the right thing to eat continues. I have books telling me basically that I need to eat according to the food pyramid but I just can't seem to think of good lunches. Anyone have some good ideas?

Yesterday I threw up and I couldn't eat much, so I grazed throughout the day. I lost a pound which worries me. I need to figure out a good eating regime for pregnancy. I will totally accept ideas from those who have been pregnant and can tell me what you did or are doing!

Thx!

I can give you all of the stuff my nutritionist gave me. When I followed the pyramid, most of my lunches were 1 fruit, 1 meat, 2 grains, and 1 vegetable. Usually a sandwich on whole grains, an apple, carrot sticks or lettuce and tomato on my sandwich...

You could also do grilled meats, rice, and a veggie.

Let me know!!

Love you!!

This is a hard adjustment... I have to start thinking weight gain instead of loss! LOL

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

When I went to the doctor on Monday, I was told that i would need to gain 25 pounds by the end of the pregnancy in January. That means I will be in the 140's. I have spent most of my life obsessing and trying to stay in really great shape. Hopefully I won't overdo it and gain too much. She scared me- she says anymore and that'll be hard to lose afterward. So I need to figure out what to do. I have bought books on meal plans for pregnancy, so I need to map out my diet even better so that I will deliver a happy healthy baby. It is so hard to eat right when you have morning sickness, but I am finally getting over it. I have started walking like they suggested, today is my second day. It is hot out there! I still can't believe how much our lives will be changing in just 6 1/2 months. I am so excited. I get to find out what sex the baby is in about 9 1/2 weeks. I can't wait! I go back in two weeks for my sonogram and prenatal physical check-up. On the 28th! If you have had a baby, give me some advice on meal plans, exercise, anything.

p.s. another tip I noticed with my two babes. By the time my new babies were 2months old I had lost ALL the weight PLUS some (as I see most of my friends who've had babies too).....it's AFTER that point that you have to get back on track. Breastfeeding will make you hungrier, but don't fool yourself into thinking it justifies late night binges!

I am 100% that you will look even better after the baby!

I have to put in my two cents about your weight gain. It's not meant to be a scary thing. I think you should preferr to eat healthy, stay active and forget how much you weigh. I had high-risk pregnancies, LOST 25lbs the first 5 months and I had healthy babies, even though they were preemie. (I also have two uterus', that's what made my pregnancies so high risk).

I encourage you to seek a healthy life style, just like you did before baby. Everything will works itself out!

I used to worry about weight gain in pregnancy, but look around, there are tons of people on here that have lost more weight than you'll gain so I know you can do it. You've got all the tools and support you need right here. At the moment it's time to focus on feeding your baby and listening to your body. :) Congrats!

Hey there! I was miserably sick in my first trimester as well. I won't gross you out with the gory details but it was awful. I'm not even sure I kept anything at ALL down the first trimenster, even water was a struggle! But once you hit your second trimester you feel a heavenly sweet relief! I really think then you begin to gain a new appreciation for food and their tastes! I too have spent my entire life obsessing about never letting myself get anywhere near over weight but you really have to remind yourself this is for the baby. You will no doubt be able to lose the weight and get back to where you were but right now what baby wants baby gets! Don't think about calories or how many meals you're eating or anything. Just think about your healthy little angel growing inside you! To be honest I had a chocolate malt and onion rings every day I was pregnant, lol! But I assure you your body resumes itself to where you were before baby after you deliver and then the only struggling is toning and tightening! Stay strong girlie! Talk to you soon! emoticon

Wow, I'll bet that is a change! We have both been ::LOSE LOSE LOSE:: for so ling...lol!! I agree tat finding a pregnancy group is the best thing...who better than teh expert moms out there!! =)

It is so miserable outside! I know your pain...My uninsulated garage is so hot...even at night!! HAHA!

I doubt you will have to try TOO much to gain a little weight once you get a little further along. It seems like the last trimentser everyone I know packs on a few pounds fairly quickly. I would focus on just keeping a healthy weight at each appointment. As long as you follow a pregnancy diet, and keep walking, you will do just wonderful!! =) And don't worry about after the baby weight....I'll be around to kick your butt! By then I'll be really far along and in good shape! =) (hopefully)

I lvoe you nad am always here for you, Bestie!!

Love you!!

XOXO

    emoticon on your pregnancy!
Don't worry about the weight gain- you have too much other stuff w/ a new baby coming to worry about.
I was really overweight when I became pregnant and gained ALOT of weight! I was crying through my pregnancy about how would I ever get it off....it was the easiet thing in the world! emoticon It was the only time in my entire life i was able to lose weight- something just clicked. I was close to 250lbs when I delivered my son 1/31/07- by that July (6 months roughly) I was bouncing in the 130's. :) I tell everyone having an infant/toddler is the best form of exercise!! LOL
You'll be fine!

Wishing you a very happy & healthy pregnancy!
