Is It Normal to be Sore After Every Workout?

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I've worked out 4 days this past week and I am always sore the next day. It prevents me from doing the exercise I had planned that day. Is this normal? I really want to be able to exercise pretty hard 5-6 days a week, but it isn't possible if I am sore in random areas. I am a little frustrated, but I will do some yoga and walk today instead of doing Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. UGHHH

Try cooling down after your workouts by doing 5 mins on 1 of the many cardio machines in your gym.

My Fiance is 28 and developed Shingles due to Stress (I am scared)

Monday, June 17, 2013

I found out to today that my fiance (28 years old) has Shingles along with his panic disorder and stomach problems. I am super worried because his stress is literally taking a huge toll on his body, while I am healthy as a horse. I feel very anxious about this and needed to vent to people that understand this type of thing. I've talked to him about exercising, but he probably won't. I told him that cardio and strength training are beneficial to the body, especially stress but I doubt he will do it. Honestly, I do not want to marry and have children with someone that is constantly battling stress related illnesses. That sounds harsh, but it is true. I love him and I do not know how to cope or talk him into exercising. He is on an anti-anxiety med, but it does not seem to work. I feel powerless, angry at him, resentful, and worried. Thanks for listening, any advice for this type of thing would be very much appreciated.

Talk to him, coax him into taking long walks, going swimming, rollerblading- simple activities that you spend time together and talk. I agree. This healthy way of life is one of your core values- he needs to understand that. Hang in there ((((hugs))))

Aw, I'm sorry you are dealing with this. However, I think communication is key. Talk with him about it. Maybe if he's willing to change, you guys can do it together.

I support both of the previous comments too. They've got some good insight.

Hope things work out. emoticon

Sounds like you may need some premarital counseling to work through these issues. If he knows how this could affect your future plans, he might be more willing to try some things to reduce his stress.

Love him, talk to him, explain to him. You cannot force him. And then lead by example. Show him how happy and not stressed you are because you exercise and eat right. Make him healthy meals when you can. Give it some time. You may eventually have to make a choice between you and your health and him. But let him know that he is choosing poor health instead of you and good health, or if not good health at least better health. Explain to him that you don't want to watch him die by inches. Start out small, like walking after dinner when it is cooler or in the morning with a fresh start to the day.

Good luck

Hello Everyone,
I am back from a two year hiatus ( I maintained my weight loss, thanks to the tools and support I learned from SP) to gain muscle and decrease my BF%. I am really excited to start my fitness again and I am SORE, but determined. I apologize to all my Spark friends for not being around. I am happy to be back. emoticon

I ATE CRAP THIS WEEK! I feel kinda guilty

Sunday, September 04, 2011

I ate Chinese food a few days ago and I bloated for a few days and then I dropped 2 lbs. I ate over my calories for the last 5 days. Today I had a huge burger and fries and candy galore. I feel pretty bad about it, but I tracked it all and I burned about 800 or so calories exercising like crazy today. I dont know what has gotten into me, but I am starting to feel scared of myself and my choices. I have lost 20 lbs in the last 2 and a half months and I want to keep losing. Maybe I am getting too confident or something, but I need to TIGHTEN THE REINS! Tomorrow I will eat 1300 calories and continue my exercises (which I have been doing daily regardless of my food choices). I know I probably needed to shake up my metabolism, but it is starting to get out of hand. I am proud of myself for tracking anyway and exercising alot, but my diet needs some major help. Thanks for listening, and have a great week Sparkers!

You may have eaten lots of crap, but at least you kept moving, so you burned some of it off. We all have days or weeks like that. It's all in the past. Time to move forward.

Alright you did it it`s done It can`t be undone so chalk it up to bad choices and pay the consequences and turn it around!

YOU`RE RIGHT AND YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO BE PROUD OF YOURSELF FOR TRACKING ANYWAY AND EXERCISING emoticon emoticon
BUT YOU`RE ALSO RIGHT THAT YOUR DIET NEEDS SOME MAJOR HELP. YOU`VE ADMITTED IT, CLAIMED IT
I know you You know what it takes to do it; SAY IT WITH ME, COMMITMENT, CONSISTENCY AND CONTROL IT`S WHAT LOST YOU THOSE FIRST 20 POUNDS RIGHT
SO TOMORROW WE GET RIGHT BACK ON THAT HORSE.
SEE YOU THERE!

All I can say is you could have written this about me, especially today. I say we both can and will turn ourselves around. emoticon

You should be proud of yourself for tracking but also for seeing the changes taking place. Sometimes our bodies test us to see if we will go back to the old ways. You started but put the brakes on so be happy with yourself. Tomorrow is a new day and you will exercise and eat 1300 calories. emoticon

Plateau finally broken!!

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

I was the same 3 lbs for 11 days and I was starting to worry something was wrong with me. I started doing Jillian Michaels and the Biggest Loser workout DVDs and they work my butt off. I also have cut my calories to 1200-1330. I am very happy but I am worried that if I go and eat normally I will gain it all back.

Glad to hear it. But leave the fretting behind with the loss of the 3 pounds. Fearing that you`ll gain it back only causes undo stress and worry. You`ve lost the 3 now go after the nest 1

Congrats on the weight loss! I wouldn't worry so much about the plateau or regaining your weight, but pay attention to what time of the month it is. I know I lose most my weight the first 2 weeks after my period and then less or none for the other 2 weeks. Sometimes it's just how your body works! :)

Jillian has great work outs but if you eat to little you will lose more muscle than you want. It's all about balance, got my fingers crossed that you can find yours, and I find mine, and world hunger ends, the debt crisis ends.....etc etc emoticon
