I wish the 2' of snow that filled my 50' driveway was this cute..
What fun!

We arrived home from Kansas yesterday after being stranded because of the storm. Our sweet son and neighbor had plowed our drive. How nice! We are so grateful and so very thankful to them as we could get back to our garage without problems and into the house.

Take care and hope you enjoy your 2' of snow.

Sunny

Yup, It's True...

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information and
wisdom in our heads that when there
is no more room, it distributes out
to the rest of our bodies.

So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured,
educated and happy.
Beginning today, when I look at my butt
in the mirror I will think,
“Good grief, look how smart I am!”

Must be where “Smart Ass” came from!

Sorry, couldn't help but share this, just cracked me up.

Don't Let September 11, 2001 Be Forgotten

Thursday, September 09, 2010

I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety & security has been threatened. I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me." President George W. Bush September 11, 2001

May all of those who perished that day, in the days and years following; may you rest in peace.

We lost our boss in this disaster the firm I worked for had 2 of the highest floors on one of those twin towers. A big service was held in memory of those of our firm who lost their lives, it was held in St Brides Church, Fleet St, London. The twin towers disaster was a huge shock & then London was attacked in 2005 when some other nutters bombed pt of the tube & a bus. I can imagine the trauma it caused so many people because that's what it did to me & some of my colleagues. So now whereever you travel in the world you are put through the third degree as though you are a criminal. What does the bible say about forgiveness? I don't know someone please enlighten me.

OK - where is the "tissue alert"? You know you should have one - don't you. I am sitting here with tears flowing remembering all too well the emotions I felt on that day. It wasn't long after that day that my own son made a decision to serve our country & I pray forall of our soldiers daily.

Thanks so much for a wonderful blog. BTW - it was the "taps" video that did me in. I was doing OK until I clicked on that link and then there was no hope left for my tears.

I love you, Kelly!

Importance of Walking

Importance of Walking

Walking 20 minutes a day can add time to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $7000 per month.

Grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.

I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.

The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing..

I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

I do have flabby thighs,
but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she?'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years ....
just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

AND

Every time I start thinking too much
about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour
and by the time I leave,
I look just fine.

You could walk this over to your friends, but I'd just Blog
it to them instead!

Star Spangled Banner

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Tomorrow is Flag Day, I came across this and thought instead of the history of Flag Day I would pass this along. I always thought the fourth stanza was the first and it is so rare to hear it sung. I've lost the link of a beautiful impromptu version of this song, which prompted me to go looking for the lyrics and got a history reminder instead.

I'm glad you found your missing Link. LOL
This song has always touched my heart so deeply - - especially since I first learned all the verses in elementary school. The Nuns made sure we learned all of them because of the reference to God in the little known other verses.
