I was talking with my health coach yesterday. That sparked this train of thought. I returned from Paris, where I walked 5 miles per day minimum, on September 13th. It is now the 18th today. It is true that I began work full time on the 15th. With that comes a lot of extra work up front. But I hadn't done any significant workouts at all. I have averaged only 2700 steps a day.
I allowed myself to get sidetracked because of work and the cold I was getting. "I'll just rest a couple of days while this cough is on". Well, that "couple" turned into 5.
I was running on "default mode". You know, the kind of mode you get into when you're not really planning or thinking about working out. This kind of mode is what kept me defeated all these years.
So I think this is breakthrough in my mindset. Now I can recognize "default mode" maybe a little easier next time and set a plan to defeat it next time. Today is the first time back on track for exercise. Feels sooooo goood!
And for my friends wondering about my trip to Paris. A dream. Just a dream. I am so relaxed and stress free it's crazy. The French wine and Champagne is amazing. The beer, not so much. I never thought I was a Champagne lover. Apparently I am not a bad champagne lover.
Attached is a picture from my trip. Relaxing on the cruise ship up the Seine to the coast of France.
Thank you all who prayed for my safe trip. The volcano in Iceland threatened the whole time but God took care of it.
Until next time,
