Long weekend!! with DONE PIC!!

Woohoo, I'm DONE!! So my "d" looks a little lame, and not really like a "d", but whatever! I took it when I came into work, before anyone else got here!

Today is my last day at the job I'm at!! I can't wait to start my new job on Tuesday!! I'm so happy to be going to a real "adult" job, full time, benefits, vacation time!!

Things have really been looking up for me lately, and I am feeling pretty happy about this! New job, losing some weight, managing my life a little better each day.

I am going Camping with my boyfriend and 4 other couples this weekend! I'm looking forward to some down-time. We're not going to be really far out into the wilderness, just outside of the city in a campground. I want to go swimming, and hiking, and just have fun. I bought a new sleeping bag, fleece sweater for the cooler nights, and a rain jacket incase it rains. Food is going to be a challenge though. I have a ton of beef bugers to bring, but have to get some more veggie burger for my guy. thinking of bringing eggs for breakfast. I know it's fun to cook over the fire, but frankly, I hate the cleanup! It seems like no matter what, everything burns to the bottom of the pot/pan. I will have to try to find eassy to heat up stuff. I printed out a bunch of game ideas for adults so we don't get too bored. Camping is bringing me my greatest challenge while being on the Dukan diet...Beer and smores. If I can avaoid them, I will be so proud of myself for sticking to my guns! Having said that, I really really really want to drink when I'm camping!! I've managed almost 2 weeks alcohol free on this diet, and it's been easy so far, but this is going to sting. I know it will be worth it in the end not to drink, weight loss wise, but I'm wondering if I'm going to be sacrificing some of my social life too. I won't be the only person not drinking, as a preggers pal is going too, but still!! Ugh, enough about it already!!

lately I have been reading a lot of Done Girl blogs, and it's so much fun! I never used to read any blogs, but this is different. I think it can be super motivational, and a good learning experience. I like getting to know people, and it's really made me feel a lot more comfortable about who I am, knowing I'm not the only one going through weight loss or self esteem issues. I really appreciate when people do a great blog! Maybe one day mine will be really well written and funny!!

Hope all of us Canadians have a super fun Canada long weekend, and that our American pals have a great 4th of July!! To anyone else with a long weekend or whatever from another country, hope you have an awesome weekend too!!! emoticon!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Love your blog - anxious to hear how the new job is going and how your camping weekend went. Hopefully you had nice weather, good food, lots of laughs and a bunch of relaxation. You'll have to keep us updated!

    Great pic, and great blog I know the feeling, I brought diet soda with me. To be honest the one time I drank alcohol, I realized that I had definetely loss my resistance one small glass of wine and I was done so be careful. If you do drink ensure you have TONS of water, the protein is already hard on the liver so if you add alcohol you may feel bad. Enjoy camping!

    Good luck with the new job! I hope you love it!!! And have fun camping this weekend, don't beat yourself up if you slip and eat a little more than you were planning. You can just get right back on track when you come back!

    Remember, it's a lifestyle - make it work for you. If you cut back your calories in some of your meals during the day, up your activity a bit then can't you use those additional calories for beer? If so - go for it! :)

So I love that I have lost about 6lbs in 3 days of the Dukan diet. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to just get rid of the weight as fast as they can. I am more and more motivated every day to stick to the diet and put myself first for a change!!
Last night I ate a steak with chicken bacon for dinner, then had fat free frozen yogurt for dessert. Not too shabby!!
I hope that anyone who wants to try this diet does so, as you'll be amazed at how quickly results appear.
Anyways, it's a grey-looking day here in Southwestern Ontario. We got a TON of rain last night, big thunder storm. my street is currently under construction, and with all the rain, we literally had a river of muddy water instead of a street. There were recycling boxes and garbage bags floating in it, since today was garbage and recycling pickup. It looked hilarious and somewhat scary! Our neighbors went out to see how deep it was, and they were in to their knees. I took some pics and video footage incase I needed to call in to work because we couldn't get out of the house today. Evidence is key when you work for people who question everything!!
I have been a bit tired the past few weeks, and I think it may be due to the weather changing so often lately. I went to bed at 11 last night instead of passing out on the couch while my BF plays video games all friggin night! I feel like overall I have more energy, but I just need a day off where I can sleep in and just relax.
I hope all my fellow DONE girls are doing great! I would love to get to know more of you better! i also want to thank the folks in the DOint the Dukan group for the advise they gave me!!

Wed. June 22/11-Dukan day 3

So I am on day 3 of the Attack phase of the Dukan diet, and so far so good.
I've been eating a LOT of cottage cheese, ff yogurt, and some fish. Also eating beef, chicken, etc.
I didn't see a difference on the scale from yesterday, but I'm not losing hope, since it's only day 3! When I weighed yesterday am I was suprised that the scale had gone down about 2lbs. 2lbs in ONE DAY!!! I was shocked. I know it's not a ton of weight, but I think that's good for one days worth of dieting!
It's been pretty easy to avoid foods that are not currently allowed, but last night I had about6 little pickle slices, forgetting that they're not in until the cruise phase. Not overly concerned about that though.
On my lunch hour today, I went over to a client's house for a swim, which was so nice and relaxing! I have to add it into my fitness log. I have kinda stoped tracking my food on SP because of the diet. I might start up again later on though.
I'm feeling pretty tired today, but positive, as I went for an interview yesterday and was hired on the spot!! It felt amazing, since there were a bunch of people from my school program interviewing for the same job! I guess all my excitedness yesterday wore me out a lot. I gave my 2 weeks' notice at my current job, which felt soooooooo good! I hope these 2 weeks fly by!!

    You should definitely post your foods. It will give you clear knowledge of how much you are eating in case you have issues later. That info will help pinpoint the problem.

Monday June 20-Dukan day one!!

Well, today I started the Dukan diet! I am super motivated! I have a spark buddy in on it, and 3 "real-world" pals too! It's always great to have additional support.
I had to make a change to my coffee order this morning, going from double milk & half sugar to black with one sweetener. Not too bad, but I don't really like the taste of sweetener very much.
I brought some baked perch fillets and a container of fat free yogurt to eat at work. I also have a lot of meat at home, which I bought yesterday. My boyfriend is a vegetarian, so we rarely ever have meat at the house.
Can I just say how bloody expensive meat is!!! Holy crap. I will be gently crying inside as I eat my steaks.
I have to go today and buy the oat bran required for the diet. I believe I take 1.5 tablespoons a day while in the "attack" phase. It's cool that there are so many recipes in the Dukan cookbook that teach you how to incorporate the oat bran without it being kinda blah.
Since it's still early, I clearly have no results to share yet!! I hope that in a few days I notice a difference in how I feel, and that the scale gradually hates me less!!
One other side note, I have to call a woman today to arrange a job interview for a position I am really interested in. I hope that I can get that job! I currently am not enjoying where I am for so many reasons. I am dying to give my notice!!

    Hi Allison,

What a day - new diet and hopefully an interview that nets you a new job as well! Lots of great things in the future! I am also on the Dukan Diet and it's the first one that has actually worked for me. I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel...I will get to my goal weight! It helps to have friends that you can chat with too!
