Wii Fit

Thursday, December 04, 2008

Today I bought a Wii Fit. I have yet to play, but am very excited. Today is also my husband's birthday, so I went to Game Stop looking for some gifts and heard that they had Wii Fits in stock. This was the #1 thing on my Christmas list, and my husband kept saying he couldn't find one. So, I took it upon myself to purchase it. So, I'll have another avenue for game exercise :)

I bought the Wii for my kids last Christmas. This summer I bought the Wii Fit and moved the Wii to my room. You gotta try the hulla hoop. (Or better yet have your husband!) You wind up looking like you stuck your finger in a light socket.

Once you unlock the free step you can play the that one while you watch you favorite show and it keeps time with your steps. emoticon

Oh nice Downy you are going to LOVE the Wii Fit!! I don't use mine as much as I should but plan to get on there 2X's a week starting this weekend. When you start we should check in with each other and make sure we are staying active on our Wii's.

I told my hubby I wanted Guitar Hero for Christmas, and he looked at me like I grew two heads! I've also heard the Wii Fit was a great investment!

Let me know how you like it!

I'm jealous. I want one very badly. It has weight restrictions. Maybe that will be a good present to myself when I get down below their weight restriction. Congrats on the purchase. :)

Another Plateau??

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Ugh - I feel like plateaus are all I get when I diet. It's so frustrating because I am working so hard!!

Last week I was on the elliptical and noticed how drained I felt, while on the machine and directly after the workout. So, I'm taking a week off from the elliptical. It's Thanksgiving so the wellness center is closed anyways. I've been using Wii Boxing and Tennis for my cardio. Man the boxing just about kills me - I never move my arms that fast and furiously. My arms and shoulders are sore, the good sore when you're using muscles that haven't been used in awhile. So I know I'm doing something at least.

I have been going below my calorie range for the past week or two - about 4--600 calories less. I know that I need to increase, but it's not that I've been going hungry. I've just been eating lower calorie foods. Last night I had extra calories (about 100 over the range) to shock my system. We'll see if it helps.

I'm just frustrated that I'm doing so much and seeing nothing. The scale really owes me!!

I'm sure the scale will catch up with how hard you've been working. I bet when you do drop some more weight it'll be a bigger number!! :-)

My friends and family

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Help me lose weight in little ways. Right now, while my husband is supportive of my journey, he hasn't hopped on board. He weighs the most he has ever weighed and complains about his weight, but doesn't do much to change it. I have got him to start playing Wii Tennis with me though. I think that soon enough he will be on board on his own journey.

Our son helps with weight loss just because he's a ball of energy and we have to keep up! I got a stability ball on Friday and he loves it - it's almost as tall as he is. We can almost recreate the scene from Indiana Jones with that ball and him in the hallway.

Right now my mom is doing South Beach. While I've tried to get her to change to a more normal diet (and do any sort of exercise) she is bent that this is the way for her. She's lost as much in three weeks than I have overall, but I know that what I'm doing will lead to longer results than hers. It's just going to take patience.

I think family being involved is very important. they will not force you to eat foods you would not eat while sticking to a plan. That is the best way. My son does the same thing too with the stability ball. Makes me laugh when the ball does roll over him. Good luck. looking good if your family is on board.

When I exercise I feel invigorated!

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Exercising makes me feel like I am doing something. I am actually using my body to do something, not just my mind, like I have for years. I feel like I'm making progress towards my ultimate goal.

I'm two pounds away from my mini goal, which I had hoped to meet by 11/17. At this point I think that I can do it.

My husband and I have been bad recently eating out our dinners. I've tried to make healthy choices but it doesn't always work. I'm making fake chicken and dumplings today so at least I know we'll have a healthy dinner tonight!

Congrats on being so close to your mini goal. Eating out is a weakness of mine as well. It's so tempting! Just keep up the visualization and give yourself a nice reward for reaching your goal.
