Did you know?!?!.....

Sunday, February 21, 2010

I find myself starting sentences with this a lot as I am on this journey... Right now I am reading Jillian Michaels' "Master Your Metabolism" and I thought I'd share a few things that struck me & I find myself repeating! =]

1. Did you know.... For each can of diet soft drink consumed each day, a person's risk of obesity goes up 41 PERCENT! (I don't drink diet pop because I can't stand fake sugar but, I know a lot of people that do and this statistic is crazy to me!)

2. Did you know... Not only does Garlic (and onions, chives, scallions... pretty much anything that makes your breath stink=]) keep insulin levels stable, it also lowers cholesterol and stimulate glutathione which is an antioxidant that fights free radicals!

3. Did you know... Whole eggs are nearly a perfect food... if you eat one with an orange, you'll get the only thing that is missing, vitamin C.

I'll share more as I go along... this is a really interesting book. I can't see myself doing everything that she says but I can definitely see myself doing some of it. I love reading things like this & hopefully Jillian doesn't mind me sharing with you!!

Garlic, onions, etc. Yummmmmmy. I like eggs too and don't drink any kind of soda at all. So far so good. Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead. LOL

I love Garlic, now what does that book say about Dark Beers.
And I'm glad that I don't like diet soda.
Neat information.

A New Month

Sunday, November 01, 2009

I can't believe today is November already. My diet & exercise have been relaxed lately because I haven't been feeling well and I was discouraged by not having a weight loss after trying so hard. Tomorrow is a new day though and the beginning of a new month where I am going to give it my best! Also, soccer season is officially over and that will give me more time. Halloween was also the start of the "holiday season". It has already been hard to leave the candy alone which is unusual for me. I wish everyone the best in the upcoming months with their wellness goals!

There is something about the beginning of a new month that just seems like the perfect opportunity for a fresh start! :) Halloween is a big milestone for holidays- Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away now. Yikes!

Broken Scale

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

My scale is broken and I'm not sure if it is good or bad! I think I will weigh myself in the morning when I get to work. Playing soccer tonight with my girls was so much fun!!! Hopefully I can find an indoor team to play on this winter! Tomorrow is our Fall Family Picnic so I will be working late and doing laundry... I'll write more later (I always think that!). Hope everyone Enjoys Their Day!

It's a good thing, trust me. This way you won't weigh yourself all the time. Glad you're enjoying your soccer playing.

New Pants??

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

I think I'm going to need new pants soon!!! How exciting!!

How much weight did everyone have to lose before they needed new pants? Mine were VERY small to begin with so it has taken awhile to get to this point.

I lost twenty pounds and two sizes. I got rid of all my bigger clothes because I am determined to keep it off!

I had a lot of sizes in my closet but aftr I lost 50 pounds I ran out of smaller clothes and had to start shopping. I have now replaced all my clothes completly 2 times and I am working on the tird time. It always feels so good to have to get another size smaller. Keep up the great work.
