Peaceful protests

Saturday, October 15, 2011

Just watching some people in Toronto being asked why they are gathering in such large
groups, and it all seems to be about money the huge gap between the haves and have not's.
One young girl made a comment, {she was with her mother} and she was asked what she
thought the protests would achieve and her reply was The Power of people is greater than
the people of power. Something the politicians should maybe pay heed to.

Have a Happy Week-end.

It was a challenge

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Cooking the Dinner for Thanksgiving, three out of four burners decided to kick the bucket,
all at the same timeI put in new fuses but that didn't work, and since it was a long week end there were no services open, thank goodness the oven worked, so I worked in relays the steamer helped a lot too.The big challenge was the gravy, I usually make it in the turkey pan using two burners, had to rethink thar and use a saucepan and my one burner.
Had a nice glass of red wine to help through my ordeal. emoticon
The meal turned out well.

Great that you just calmly (?!) improvised with what you had available.

I remember one Christmas when we had a power cut hal way through cooking the meal, which cut off our electric oven. Fortunately the hob was gas, but I had to do my "roast" potatoes in the wok!

SQUIRREL

Sunday, September 25, 2011

We has a baptism during mass last evening,a tiny 2week old girl who was given the name Teagan Elizabeth I wonder when I watch the ceremonies if they warm the water before it is
poured over the babies head, this little mite slept through the whole thing, even being
passed from one relative to another.
Our second attraction of the evening was the little black squirrel who scampered around the
Sanctuary,he had come in through the garden and then rushed around looking for the exit
with a couple of people trying[ very discreetly] to help him on his way.
