Birthday and wedding!!

Thursday, September 12, 2013

Our son, Scott, asked me to go help him find a wedding present for the couple who he's the best Man in the wedding, I was so excited. He rarely asks me to do things like that. On the way back home, we picked up gifts for my mom for her birthday tomorrow, and dropped them off, along with a stuffed long john doughnut, decorated with sprinkles on it. We sang happy birthday to her and gave her gifts. I forgot one that was in the car, so Scott will have to take it in Monday, or maybe I can give it to her tomorrow. Brande and I are going out to eat with her tomorrow at noon.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend...I'll see you Monday.

Do Not Call list...or call me more list?

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

Elena: Our son liked the movie Riddick, but (his words) "I've seen the others and knew what was going on." So if you've seen the others, you will understand it better.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week (growls because just got a call from a business trying to sell a "new comprehensive low cost dental insurance" to me. I'm on a NO CALL LIST why am I getting these dang calls!!

Anyway, shaking that off, our son wants me to go with him on Thursday to find a wedding gift for the one he's the Best Man in. I may end up getting groceries at the same time, kill two birds with one stone, as they say.

I hope you all have a great week, oh, found a few pics of our daughter with her classmates.
Brande's the blonde on the right, in the gray shirt.

Movie..

Tuesday, September 10, 2013

Well, finally got that "down time" that Eleni suggested, and enjoyed it. My mom, my sister-in-laws mom and her friend, and 2 of my mom's friends all went to see "The Butler". What a good movie, if you've not seen it, please try to, it's well worth it.

We're now planning on seeing "Mandela" and "12 Years A Slave", both true stories, and look so good. But that's later this year, I think.

Son is going to go see "Riddick" tonight, he loves those shows.

I hope you all have a great day, I went for my walk around 9am before it got horribly hot, and then took a shower, it felt soooo good.

Have a greet day, everyone, see you soon! emoticon

Glad you got some down time. I will have to wait til Butler comes out on DVD but it looks like a good movie. I will also watch Riddick too.

Sore

Sunday, September 08, 2013

It finally rained, we needed it bad! I'm about ready to go out and take my walk...even though my entire body is sore from cleaning the daughter's house. (She's moving into an old farmhouse that had 40+ cats inside, and the people smoked a LOT, so we had to wash the wood walls in the room they're making the den. Talk about filthy water!!) We also taped so we could paint the walls....think we're doing that this week.

Next weekend is the wedding in Stevens Point our son is the Best Man in. Can't wait, he's nervous, but hey, maybe he'll meet a nice girl and be happier again! I keep praying for him, but he's so afraid to ask anyone out it's not funny. He's afraid they'll say no and doesn't understand that's life, we've all had someone tell us no! Oh well, God knows what He's doing!

Have a wonderful week, everyone! Time for my walk.

Nothing...yet..

Saturday, September 07, 2013

Our daughter said they weren't doing hay today (they were to load up all the hay in their old shed and move it to the newer one, that's a LOT of hay) so we won't be going over to help with that. They're also going to paint the walls before doing the floor, I hope that turns out well for them, I'm just afraid the sanding of the floor will get on the walls, but who knows.

I need to get out there and take my walk, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Rick and his cake. (homemade angel food cake, cut in half, crushed strawberries and whipped cream in the middle, and topped with whipped cream and a few more strawberries)
