upper 90's today

Monday, August 26, 2013

Well, went out for my walk early this morning, well for me, it was 930, and it was already getting humid out and a little warm. I'm so glad I went then instead of waiting, I would have really died.

I'm so glad we don't have to can any tomatoes this year, last year we had so many tomatoes that I actually ended up canning tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, and salsa, which I normally don't do; along with my usual whole tomatoes and tomato juice, so we have an overabundance.

However we will be freezing some corn soon, gave away 3 bags to my mom and sister, a bag to my one brother in law, another to our nephew, and two more to my other brother in law, three to our daughter and her bf, and his parents, plus one to a friend. We still have more corn out there and we have a LOT in the fridge just to eat. We microwave it and have it that way when it's hot and it's delicious!

Got some onions out of the garden, but my husband ended up tossing a bunch of them out because they were soft in the center. Not sure if that's the type of onions they were supposed to be, but he said he's not buying them next year.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful day and keep cool! emoticon

I remember my canning days. Lots of work. Good job on walk. It is hard to do when it is hot.

Thank you

Sunday, August 25, 2013

I had my blog typed up and it vanished when I tried to put the pic up, so I've got to try again, but it never fails, the second time is never as good as the first.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for stopping by and posting here, some of you, Eleni, do it without fail, and you have no idea how much that means to me.

I could sit home and try to lose weight without someone there to help me; I'm not saying my family doesn't support me, but it's not the same as having others who share in the journey, like you do here at SparkPeople. THAT is what makes the difference. Someone who listens when your emotions run rampant, when you need to scream, cry, yell, laugh, or whatever type of emotion overtakes you for the day.

So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being here for me, you will never know to what extent your posts here and on my blog have made on my life. In my short time of being here (since February this year), I've come to know a few people and enjoyed speaking to them in this format and feel that I know you as a friend in real life. That may sound crazy, but to me, a friendship made in the heart, is a true friendship, whether here or face to face.

So again, thank you, may you be blessed with the riches of life that you each deserve...and
may you each have a wonderful rest of the weekend ahead of you.

Short Blog

Saturday, August 24, 2013

Well I'm heading out for my walk before it starts getting hot outside.

The start of the weekend, I finally have nothing going on...I don't think. It's a beautiful day outside, cool so far, the breeze at least, but this next week is to be in the 90's, and no pool...ARRRGGHHHHH! Oh well, I'll survive, I may go back to doing exercises in the house.

I'll talk you later, have a great day! emoticon

Gator

Friday, August 23, 2013

It's actually quite nice out, not humid, which is what I expected after the rains yesterday. I wasn't sure about walking my entire body felt so weak and tired when I got up this morning and my blood sugar wasn't low at all, I was actually surprised, but once I went for my walk, I felt a lot better. Maybe that's what I needed.

Getting groceries later on today, we have our daughters dog this weekend, she's going up for a truck pull her boyfriend is in, so that should be a great time, we love having him around, afterall he'd lived with us since he was a baby. He's now 4 years old, hard to believe he's grown up so much. He's so adorable. Gator is hilarious at times, and behaves so well. Unfortunately his Father died when he was 4 of Cancer, but the one who gave his Dad to our daughter told her to come and get one of his offspring, so she picked out Gator. She named him Rennugade aka Gator (the first part backwards for his dad's name, Gunner, and I'd said, well call him Gator, because of taking the last part, Gade and just adding a r, but spelling it Gator). It's funny because as he got older, he does this thing where he snaps his teeth together, like a gator bite. He doesn't actually bite anyone, he's just playing, and it's so funny. We never knew he'd actually do a "gator bite action" when he was named Gator and it's so perfect. He does it on command, too, and he was never trained to do it. He is so adorable, full blooded Golden Retriever.

I don't think she'll ever get anything but Goldens from now on, they're so laid back and the perfect dog, so kind, loving, and gentle. I've never seen a dog like them.

Anyway, here's a few pics of him through the years, that's all for now, I hope you all have a wonderful day, and weekend!

Happy Anniversary to my Husband, Rick

Thursday, August 22, 2013

Yesterday was my Husband and mine 31st Anniversary. I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else. We've been together 36 years, and I've never been happier. Thank you, Rick, for completing my life, for our 2 wonderful children, and for being there beside me every step of the way. I loved you then, I love you now, and I'll love you forever.

We went out to eat at a place we'd gone since one of our first dates and every year after that, for the past 36 years; Cozy Inn, a Chinese place. They have the most delicious beef chow mein/chop suey, and I think we've had that every year! Our kids usually go with us, but this year our daughter wasn't able to (I didn't know until the last minute, so wasn't able to let her know). The only down side was we never got a card from the kids. Now I'm the type who would rather get a card than anything else, I save the cards and look at them over the years.

I was really upset when my husband didn't get me one for our 25th...to me that was a special anniversary, and I really wanted one...but I guess I'll live through it. Anyway, life goes on, we had a wonderful time going out to eat with Scott. You know, I wish I looked like I did when we married, maybe someday, right?

Have a great day, everyone!
