Finally, a name!

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

Well, my nephew and his gf finally chose a name for their new son....Wyatt Lydel. This name is special because my cousin, Lydel, passed away in a truck accident a few years ago, so to name their son after him is very special. Lydel was only 27 when he died. They had named their first son Remington Edward, after my Dad, Edward, who passed away last year. He was my Dad's first Great-grandchild, and at least he got to see him before he passed away. Remington was born exactly a month after my Dad's birthday (11-28-Dad's bday; 12-28 Remingtons).

I wish my Dad could have lived to see his second great-grandchild, but I know he sees him. I know my cousin, who's son he's named after, will be excited to hear the name. I may get upset at my nephew sometimes, but there are times like this he does make me proud.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I'm going to.

This is Remington Edward and Wyatt Lydel in their first picture together.

Doing great

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Went to the doc yesterday, and just before she came in to see me, she had to leave and deliver a baby. It was kind of funny because my nephew and his girlfriend are due any time and so I asked if it was them. But no, it wasn't; however when I got home, I was talking to our daughter and she said she'd talked to her aunt (my sister, the soon to be grandmother) and she had said that Talon (the mother) was in labor. She had an "at home water birth", (well at her parents), I know they were having a boy, but as for a name, I have no idea. Their first son is Remington, so it's hard to tell.

The Doc said everything looks great, the meeting last night for the playground went wonderfully, but we need to redo the playground because of deterioration...after 20 years it's lasted pretty good, however.

So a great day all around, I hope you all have one too! emoticon

Great Weekend.

Monday, August 19, 2013

We had a wonderful time up at the trailer, caught about 23 Bluegills, BIG ones and took the boat out for the first time since Dad passed away. I missed him driving it, but hey, life goes on and I know he'd want us to use it.

Another frustrating visit to the Doc, I've been following my Diet meticulously, and walking every single day, BUT I gained nearly 10 pounds... I DON"T GET IT! I'm doing more to get healthy than I ever have in my life, including when I lost those 60 pounds, but I want to cry when I see the scales anymore.

I don't want to step on the scales anymore, I had always been so excited to go to the doc to get weighed, but now I'm to the point where I never want to see a scales again. It seems like everything I'm doing is in vane, that I'm denying myself of the good food for nothing!

~Takes a deep breath.~

Ok, got that out, now time to move forward again. Went to the doc today and she was called out as I was in the room, to deliver a baby. I asked if it was my nephew and his gf, and she said "no". However, when I got home I found out Talon (his gf) was in labor, she's delivering at her parents house. That was kind of cool, I just had "one of those feelings" that she was in labor, and sure enough she is.

I have a CAMDEN Meeting tonight, a pot luck, but I'm taking the good things, tomatoes from the garden (cherry and sliced), and muskmelon (would be from the garden, but right now we only have one ripe one. I still may take it because the ones we bought are just not ripe yet.)

I hope you all have a wonderful week, my thoughts and prayers are always with you all.

Two bald eagles that were sitting above where we were fishing, watching us.

Rick's (husband's) BIG fish...everyone always says "hold them closer to the camera and they look bigger", don't think it worked here. *L* He did release this one, thank goodness!

A Great Blue Heron was also fishing near us!

It is frustrating when scale goes up but it is partly because you probably ate differently and some of it is fluid. hang in there. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Beautiful weather, trip to river..

Friday, August 16, 2013

Well I got most everything packed for the trip to the trailer on the Mississippi, it's supposed to be beautiful weather this weekend, so I'm looking forward to it. I may be fishing alone Saturday morning as my husband and his brother will be going to Prairie du Chien to try to get a hunter's choice license for their area. Hard to do on the computer, besides, we don't have a computer up at the trailer...we don't even have a tv. BUT we do have an indoor bathroom. :D

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend ahead of you, get out there and enjoy it, and never forget, even when I'm not here, you're still on my mind! emoticon

Fun times

Thursday, August 15, 2013

Had a great time with our family; husband, son, daughter, and her boyfriend, when we went out to our son, Scott's favorite place to eat for his birthday. We've done this for an extremely long time, taken them out to wherever they wanted to eat for their birthday.

Scott had wanted Big Bang Theory Season 5, and River Monsters Season 4; but RM wasn't available, so Brande (our daughter) bought him the Big Bang Theory Season 5 and Duck Dynasty, seasons 1 & 2. I love both of those shows, they're hilarious, so I'm watching Season 1 now.

Scott and his "cake", actually it's a LARGE chocolate chip cookie I'd made from scratch. Behind him is a banner I'd made out of plastic canvas and yarn; when they were 2 and have used every year, taking a pic of them in front of it at every birthday.

He'd gotten his other gifts Sunday when we returned from Boone County (his birthday was 8/8, but we were at the fair); and he got one before we left. He's going to be busy reading his books, bought him 2 he wanted about WWII, he loves to read about that. I'm so proud of him, he got his History Degree and I wish he would be able to get a job using it. He'd be incredibly good at it. He can tell anyone anything about WWII; he knows every battle, every officer, everything that happened, even the most unknown things. He always makes us proud, as does his sister.

Anyway, time to get my butt moving, I need to freeze some potatoes I cut for fries, so I need to blanche them first. Have a great day, everyone.

Love the banner. Cookie cake sounds better than cake. Sounds like a good time. emoticon
