Not a happy person.

Tuesday, August 06, 2013

*deep breath* Ok, not a real happy person today, my daughters bf has to help his dad fix a pulling truck they have, INSTEAD of going to the boone county fair for the pony show, to help her unload all her ponies (5) and their tack, her huge tack box (which takes 2 people), and all the stuff she has, which is a HUGE amount. I swear, if he ends up going up north with my husband, brother in law, and 2 other friends, I will NOT be happy at all.

Ok, commitment, I'm committed to losing weight and doing my walking every day, and I will. Even when it rained this week, I walked afterwards, got a little wet, but I didn't melt. :D

I've been writing down things I need to pick up for the fair stay, we're going to be broke again, that's for sure! I'd be going down with her, but I have to make the mac salad, pick up groceries, and an appointment, so I can't.

I wish people would either tell the truth to begin with (not him, but others), she'd have someone going down with her, but even they backed out after telling her they'd be there. Some excuse about "going to be moving out" when they didn't even have a place to live at the time. I'm sorry, but that doesn't make any sense to me. I just with if people make commitments, they'd stick to them, because they have no clue how many people they let down by doing that. If they'd put themselves in the other person's shoes...well you know the rest. Now the one contacts her and says she can be there during the show, to help...too late, we've already found someone to help out during the show, thank goodness for Brenda!

Anyway, enough of my ranting and raving, there are times when I just have to "let go", otherwise I'd blow up at someone. Thanks for listening.

Have a good day. emoticon

The fair doesn't sound much like fun. I so hope your daughter appreciates all you do.
Sounds like you have to take a lot of "deep breaths"

Back Home.

We had a great time at the trailer, not many fish on Saturday, but Saturday afternoon/night was the grand opening for the bar with its' new owners. They are great people, Jon and Jess Mitchell, so I helped them out by selling T-Shirts for them and we had a wonderful time.

I did get my walk in each day (down to the bar and up to the trailer is about 1/2 mile and I did it at least twice a day). We had a new screen door put on the outside of the trailer porch, so now that's fixed. YA!

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I'm heading out for more exercise, I'll see you tomorrow!

I HATE this picture, but it's the only one I have of me working. (shudders) it really makes me look HUGE! Note to self, never lean back in a picture!

Well, had an interesting chat with the two professors, though they said what I thought could a been a bowl, or grinder, wasn't...they said it wasn't dug out enough inside, but wow, it fits perfectly into my hand and there is a "thumb rest" that fits perfectly on my thumb. and the two items I thought were the pestles, weren't, but they said they couldn't be 100% sure.

They did say one of my rocks was a piece of coral that came from 800 million years ago (before the Cambria era), which I thought was cool, and that many of the fossils were from about 500 million years back. They even thought one of them may be a piece of turtle shell (attached to a rock).

They weren't sure about the rock with the hole, yes, it could be used for a necklace, and may have been, considering where I'd found it.

I was so excited, the one professor ran off a small book which helps identify the fossils, etc. I'm loving it.

I hope you all have a great day, I certainly am, and will be gone starting this afternoon until late Sunday, early Monday. See you after the weekend.

What a change..

Thursday, August 01, 2013

I don't know if I walked faster today, or if it was just more humid (it wasn't hot), but wow, I was sweating by the time I got back to the house. It may have been walking faster, because it didn't seem to take as long to get back. Maybe I'm getting better at this? I hope so and I continue to hope it works better than the other exercise I was doing (wasn't losing any weight, since March, have stayed the same and I'd been exercising daily at least 40 mins, but mostly with my weights. But the cardio-aerobic walking, I would have thought, daily I should have been losing. I'd cut down on my food in a major way, too, so I don't understand it. Of course I do have a thyroid problem, unfortunately not the kind that helps you lose weight.)

Anyway, I'm back to going up to the trailer Friday, do a little fishing, they're having a grand opening of the bar (new owners, they're fantastic people); and heading to UW-Rock County to speak to the people there about some rocks I'd found when I was in my early teens, behind the trailer in an empty creek bed. I know the Native American's used to go around that area (3 Burial Mounds are on top of the hill overlooking the trailer court).

I'll post a picture of one of the items, but it's not as interesting as the "bowl" like item I found, nor the pestle like rock which has grooves that my fingers fit in perfectly.

I hope you all remember to smile, let it spread across the world, and have a wonderful day!

This is the front and back of the stone, and at the top it has a broken area that almost looks like where a hole would have been, maybe to put on a cord or something?

Exercise and Frogs

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

Today I took the newspaper out to the neighbors mailbox (which is right beside ours) and there was this little bitty frog sitting on top of the mailbox. He was so cute, so when I got back from my walk, he was sitting on the side of the mailbox and I HAD to get a picture of him.

My walk was amazing, I love being out there, even when it looks like rain, today I took a plastic bag with me to put my book and glasses in, just in case it started raining. I also wore my flipflops (yes, I know, not good for walking) so if it rained, I wouldn't get my good shoes wet.

But it never rained, it was actually really nice out, not hot, not cold, just right, I loved it. We have very little traffic on our road, so it's the perfect place to walk, plus I cross two creeks on my walk (one 1/4 mile from our house, the other 1/2 mile away) so I get to look down into the water and see if there's anything of interest in them.

I love this country, so beautiful, and look forward to my walks every day. When we go up to the trailer, I walk down through the trailer court, cross the highway, and down to the boat landing that is on the Mississippi River. So peaceful and the many birds and animals you can see, just incredibly soothing.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I know I am, and keep smiling.
