Well now the picnic is going to be at our place, which is fine with me, it's just our kids and us, and daughters bf, so that's not bad, plus we won't have as far to drive to get to the fireworks. Then Friday we head up to the trailer, my brother in law called and said there were still boulders on the highway and that's still closed they're only allowing locals through. (boulders larger than dump trucks which had fallen off the hills which are right next to the highway). They had cleared the mudslides off the road so that's good, the side roads are another story though, they're still covered with mud in spots.
The ditch behind the trailer, which was only about 2' deep, is now down to bare rock and 4-6' deep and a small tree fell behind it, luckily the larger trees didn't fall. The electricity had been off for a while, but that's alright, we never leave it on anyway, but the bar at the end of the trailercourt had been closed for nearly a week because of it. They'd not had any deliveries from the Budweiser company because their trucks can't get through and Miller company had to deliver via pickup truck. Same with some of the food companies, they can only get through because it's one lane.
The highway is closed, and it's the only way to get to the trailer court. The Mississippi is really up high, and normally during the summer it's low, but where (on the dam) it's down below the 3rd step of the wall (there's 4 steps) it's now above the slant of the metal ramp (let me see if I can find a photo of the dam and you'll see the ramp and where it's located)
If you look, the metal ramp is the one with the stairs, the water is waaaay up to the right edge of the photo now, so it's very high, this picture shows where it was last year the same time, and it was lower than it's ever been last year. In fact last year it'd dropped even lower and you could actually walk on the next wall down which goes out 6' from the main wall, normally it's in between the two at this time of year. Such strange weather.

I have a headache this morning, imagine that! My daughter decided she wanted to leave on Monday because one of her ponies is in a Liberty class on Tuesday evening, which is fine with me, but now when my husband and I get home on Sunday night, I'll be washing some clothes and repacking so I'm ready to leave on Monday early afternoon to get to Des Moines and Monday afternoon...unpack ponies, get them settled in their pens, then head across the road to the hotel and unpack some more. I thank God there is a refrigerator in the hotel and a microwave, we plan on saving money by taking some food of our own to cook and eat in the room, otherwise it'll get way too expensive. I think on this trip it'll be just our daughter and I, even though it was a little nice having her boyfriend; he helped by holding ponies, polishing their hooves, watering and feeding them; and standing in front of the cart when she was driving and coming to a stop. Not to mention packing the trailer and truck and unpacking it. Oh well, I guess we'll do it on our own..fun, fun, fun....and more exercise, I guess. We'll be gone from Monday until Sunday, a lot of time gone from here, but what can I do. Plus I'll be gone from Thursday until Sunday before, so nearly a week and a half I'll be missing.
I don't know how I'll handle that, I'm getting tired of being away from home so much, what I can do.
I hope you all don't miss me, but then I think only one person reads this. *smiles & waves* I'm glad someone does. *LOL*
Have a great day, and I'll see you soon!

Wow, went to bed around midnight, got up around 840 and I'm STILL tired. I've even gone to bed around 11 gotten up at the same time and been absolutely exhausted, I just don't get it. How can someone go to bed that early and still be tired the next day. That's over 9 hours of sleep, it should be plenty. I even end up falling asleep during the day sometimes because I'm so tired, it makes no sense. Today I have a headache, which is probably due to the humidity, so I'm used to it, but sitting here typing, I just feel totally wore out. Oh well, something to ask the doctor, but then again, my husband thinks I have sleep apnea, which would definitely be a reason.
My mom and my brother's fiancee seem to think my brother may have dementia because he has a huge decrease in memory plus he's been doing some things that are just so out of character for him, but yet because he works in Ft. Wayne, IN, and lives in WI (works at the GM plant there, comes home late late Friday night, then returns late Sunday evening, so he can see his kids who live up here with his fiancee); he can't see his regular doctor in WI. AND his insurance company (HMO/Mercy Care) will NOT refer him to another doctor in Indiana!! Can you believe it?? Insurance companies are such idiots sometimes, and if my brother goes further into this because of them, I will not be happy at all. In my opinion it's Mercy Hospitals fault my Dad died anyway, and this added on.....they don't even want that to happen!
*Takes a deep breath* anyway, enough of that, I need to go get some exercise done to get rid of these emotions. I hope you all have a fantastic week, or at least a great day.

Today is the day for our mmmm faux daughter..that just don't sound right, but it's the young lady who calls me her "mom"'s son gets baptized. She is our daughter's best friend and she and her husband had a little boy, we were there for his birth and saw him a few minutes after he was born. He was adorable and still is, cannot believe he's already 6 months old. But she chose our daughter for his Godmother, she wanted Brande for her maid of honor but as a young girl she'd promised her grandmother she'd have her cousin, so she had to stick to that.
She and Brande have been friends forever, and Brande is so honored. The baptism is at 1:30 so I've got to get going on my exercises and get them done beforehand.
Anyone having problems actually losing weight even when dieting and exercising? I just measured myself and I haven't lost any more inches. I've been following my diet strictly and exercising every single day, and not one inch has dropped and I'm completely dumbfounded. I've been doing this since February!! I only lost a few pounds too, and it's getting frustrating! What am I doing wrong, I just don't get it. I would have thought I'd lose something, but not one thing, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I exercise every day, I try to change it up so I'm doing different exercises, but at least 30 minutes to 42 minutes, I just don't get it. I was hoping I'd be down at least 10 pounds by now..or at least a few inches....I don't know, but I'm not going to quit, that's for sure, not after this long.
Anyway, back to my exercises, I'll see you all later, now that I've vented. :D Have a great day!
A picture of Brande and Logan right after he was born.

We do have a baptism Sunday, but at least Saturday is kind of open. I did finish my exercises yesterday, I didn't expect to, but I just couldn't do it...not leave them go.
I got my exercises done today, though.
Wow, just heard a gunshot outside...and it's raining out, what are those people, idiots, it's pouring down rain and they're out there pheasant hunting, geez...some people have no common sense at all. Oh well, as long as they're not shooting at us, I guess. We live about a half-1/4 mile from a pheasant farm, unfortunately. It didn't become such until about 20 years after we built the house. The people are super nice, but still. I mean it's really pouring down HARD, I cannot believe anyone would be out in this stuff. *L*
Anyway, got my daughters books bought, she's paying us back for them, since she moved out I think she's finding out just how much we paid for with her. I handed her the license plate renewal for her car, her insurance policy which is due, and her life insurance payment, and reminded her that her school payment is due, too. She just kinda got a look on her face like.."wow". It was kind of funny, but we told her boyfriend, if she was moving in with him, they were responsible for their own bills, we weren't helping out anymore, and that's the way it was going to be.
She did have two jobs, but had to quit one because she's driving 30 miles every day to school, then coming home and driving to work, plus doing her school work, and having to go back and forth for school things in between times. We were trying to help her out somewhat, and she was doing what she could afford (she's a waitress, and you know how they get paid). Anyway, she's learning. Hopefully she'll get a job, once she graduates in December, with the local vet clinic as a vet assistant. So sad, she wanted to be an Equine Surgeon, but the Vet school in madison takes Foreign students FIRST, out of state students SECOND, and what's left over out of the 82 students they accept per year, is for in state students (something like 8-10 students we were told). And they don't look at whether these kids are going for poultry or large animal vet degrees (which are what are needed the most in the world), they just look at whether or not they're foreign or out of state! nice, huh?
Our daughter wanted to be a large animal vet (second most in demand) and then they wonder why they are in such shortage. Go figure.
Ok, enough of a rant, I'm done. *L* Sorry about that, but it is very frustrating. They have such a tough grading system, she made the deans list at UW-Whitewater, and where she's going now, she's had a 4.0 GPA, but at UW-Madison she was .04 of having a 3.0 GPA (which is needed to get accepted to the Vet School), that's the difference in the schools. So they sent her to UW-Whitewater, where she raised her GPA and still didn't accept her. Nice.
Guess the rant wasn't done, sorry again. *LOL*
Anyway, have a great day, everyone, you're all in my thoughts! (don't know why I used that, just did).
