I'm so happy for our son, he finally got to see one of the "heritage" engines he's been trying to get for months, if not a year. He takes such good pictures, I wish he'd take my suggestion and make a book of them all, he knows so much about each engine, it'd be easy for him to do. But he just doesn't want to, I mean with 3-4 BIG photo albums of just the engines he's seen, it'd be such a great book. Here's a few of the photos of the special "heritage" units, as you can see they look quite different than normal Engines of that "line".
Erie RR Heritage NS 1068
Illinois RR Heritage NS 1072
New Jersey RR Heritage NS 1071
New York Central RR Heritage NS 1066
Penn Central RR Heritage NS 1073
Virginia RR Heritage NS 1069
Southern RR Heritage NS 8099
Hope you enjoyed Scott's photos, and I pray you all have a wonderful day!

Today isn't too bad of a day, it's supposed to get in the 70's so that's a lot nicer than 50's or 60's, getting closer to summer weather.
I was supposed to go to Franklin Park, IL for the railroad days there, but my son decided to just go to Rochelle instead. I love doing things with him, and our daughter, but sometimes he just likes to go alone, I think. I'm hoping and praying he gets to go out on a date with a friend of his, they had to cancel last night because she had to watch her little sister. So hopefully. I know, I know, moms aren't supposed to talk about things like that, but I love my kids and really feel bad when one is too shy to ask anyone on a date, even though he's got the greatest personality, and definitely isn't into the "bad things"; heck he rarely drinks, but when someone buys him a shot (normally a member of our family) and then it's only 1. He's more of a Pepsi drinker, so he strays away from the other stuff.
Anyway, I sound like I'm doing an ad for him *L* I'm not, but anyway, back to rt stuff, have a wonderful weekend everyone!

My hands are always cold lately, wish it'd warm up outside, I'm tired of this fall-like/spring-like weather, even those two times of the year are warmer than this summer has been so far!
And normally, here in WI, it used to be in the upper 80's lower 90's by now...things have really changed, it's a shame. I miss the days when I'd go to bed and not use any blankets, have the windows wide open, but having gone in the pool in the middle of the night, made it feel that much better. We had the heat, but it was bearable. Where are those days.
Brande's getting ready for her pony show in a couple weeks down in Springfield, IL, and we're preparing for the wedding in Green Bay next weekend. We have so much going on, the week after that is a graduation party, and then the week after that is another party. I really hate having my weekends booked up for me. Oh well, we endure, right?
Just praying I stay on the diet and continue my exercises through the time I'm gone. Withdrawals, anyone?
Have a wonderful day, and an even better weekend, I'll see you soon!

Now today it's cold and rainy, I wonder where our summer went to..so much to do, and so little time to do it.
My daughter and her bf are supposed to be going to Springfield, IL for a horse/pony show, the nationals I believe, for Area IV, but if he can't go, I may be the one taking the trip...not sure how I feel about it, I do love watching her show, but it's the traveling so far I hate...5 hour drive, I believe it said, but I guess it could be worse. Anyway, I wish her the best, I hope she does well, she's only taking the buckskin (Ty), the black and white one (Mercedes) , and the solid black ponies (Sue). She figures the baby can't be in any "payback" classes, so to travel that far wouldn't be the best. It'd be his first trip. Besides, stall fees are $70/stall and she can't really afford that much.
Anyway, I hope you all remember that smile and keep moving forward!

I wish, it's not really that warm out, yet, it's actually cool with the breeze that is blowing. It's not hard, but still it doesn't need to be when it's cooler than the rest of the world, so to say.
I wish it'd warm up so we could get the pool opened, normally it'd be done way before now, but because it's been cool out we can't open it, because we can't get in and clean it, and with all the flower petals that have fallen from the crab apple tree, we need to do that in order to get it fully clean. Plus, the chemicals go to waste when no one's using the pool, so the longer we keep the winter cover on, the cleaner it stays.
Anyway, enough about the weather, i've gotten everything done, even cleaned that front window that really needed it. Maybe I'll sit down and read a book I've been ignoring for over a year and get back into it.
Supper is ready to go, I love having things done ahead of time. I hope you all enjoy your days, and remember that smile!
