The study yesterday was so interesting they're doing so much more than they'd done before. They started testing a new machine that could do away with using a needle to poke the skin in order to test blood for various things, and only this one and another in, PA, I believe is the other, are the two testing it. All you do is place your forearm on a pad (sort of like you do on the arm of a chair) and rest it there for a few seconds, then remove it. It tests your blood by your skin cells, or through them or something. Whatever it is, there is no pain at all, you're just relaxing and bam, it's done. They took blood the regular way, to compare the results, but you can get results instantly and you don't have to wait until the lab sends you the results back. It's fantastic. I hope the FDA approves it and it works like they want it to, that would be great for so many reasons.
See, this is why I love being in these studies. I said I've been in this study since the 1980;'s but it's been since 1975 or 1976, I don't recall it was right after I became diabetic, and so much has come from it. They use the studies to improve on things used to treat it, not only for the eyes, but for things like testing the blood, and such like that. I love doing it, they do this every 5 years, plus it also helps me in I end up getting a thorough eye test during that time. This time they added different ultrasounds on my arteries in my neck, did a total foot check (foot care is so important in diabetes), and so many other things which is important.
Anyway, that was how my day was yesterday, I hope you had a great day, too. Oh, we had some big storms last night, hard winds blowing, but not like Moore, OK, my prayers are with all those down there, how sad. May you all find peace in these hard

I've been in a very long-term study regarding Diabetes and it's affect on eyes, since hmmm the 1980's sometime, or 1970's maybe, but I have an appointment at 1030 in the morning tomorrow, but the thing is they've changed it from Janesville, to Monroe which is nearly an hour away from here. I HATE having to drive that far for this, but I love helping with the study. I'm not looking forward to this at all because it means I'll have to move my exercise back or skip it for tomorrow.
I wish they'd just kept the study in Janesville instead, but I had the choice of Madison, Monroe, or Lake Geneva, which none are that close to me. Janesville was the best because that's so close, but now I have to go to Monroe, where I've never been for this study and I hate this totally.
But what can you do...oh well, guess I'll see you later than normal tomorrow. I hope everyone else has a nice day.

Well back to the same ole, same ole...kind of, we got all the ponies moved, and it sure seems quiet around here without them and Gator, but I'm thinking Gator will be back later to visit or maybe stay the night. Now we're trying to figure out what she will be paying for her bills, etc, so she has a "reminder" list to go by. Boy, do I remember going through this when I moved out, so much to remember at first, but once you get into the "grind" it goes easy. Now if I can just get her to pick up her dress at the dry cleaners. *LOL*
Anyway, I need to get to my exercises, so have a wonderful day, and don't forget to smile at least to one person, even if it's yourself!

Well todays the day we move the rest of the ponies over to where my daughters moving to, I won't be seeing the baby until Boone County fair now, well maybe if I get the chance to drive over there. Maybe next Monday, but then again my daughter wouldn't be home. I have a Doctor's appointment in Monroe which goes past the road they live on, so I could stop and just visit the ponies, but no guarantee.
Anyway, I won't get to do my regular exercises today, but I'll be doing a lot more different ones, like walking ponies, carrying a LOT of stuff into the shed for them, just the usual moving stuff. Does that count as exercise? I'll bet I can make it exercise, just like when I wash dishes and "walk" at the same time. :D Where there's a will there's a way, right?
Anyway, I have to get going, my daughter (and the ponies) are waiting, I'll see you later, have a great weekend.

Animals, if something can make you smile, it's them. Today the baby was out in the yard with his mom trying to follow what she was doing and eat the grass, and everytime, nearly, he'd try to bite, his tongue would stick out of the side of his mouth, it was so funny. One of my daughters others foals did that when young, I wasn't able to get a picture, no matter how hard I tried, but it was still cute.
Then her dog, Gator, was trying to get the lungeline from her when she was lunging the mare, he kept grabbing it and pulling on it, helping her out, so he thought. It was hilarious to watch, he loves helping her with the ponies.
Today it rained, this morning anyway, but it seems to be shaping up to be a pretty good day, and I hope it remains that way. Have a beautiful day, everyone!
