I went to my doctor the other day and was told by his Nurse Practitioner that my sodium
levels were low(by 2 points).
She told me that I was probably drinking too much water.
I take an HBP med with a diuretic, so that may be what's causing the deficiency. I have been
drinking 64oz. of every day. Now she wants to change my medication. I'm not
sure if that's such a good idea. The doctor had me on a higher dose once and it gave me a
killer headache every day.
So she wants to up the dose but take out the diuretic and have me take them twice a day.
That does not sound good to me.
My pressure is well controlled. Usually 110-120/80-90.
I 'm going to finish out the remaining pills i have left and redo the bloodwork in a few weeks.
Hopefully my sodium will be back to normal.
She also suggested I drink some of those vitamin
waters or gatorade. I hate that idea too.
