I 'm at the library this morning on SparkPeople working on my points.
The library is one of my favorite places. I love to read, so I can spend the entire day browsing through the aisles looking for books, reading magazines, or the newspaper or whatever else looks interesting. Sometimes I even check out a video and watch it there.
Most libraries offer so many other forms of entertainment. Music CD's, Videos, etc. One library even has something called Playaways. They are recorded books that you can carry with you anywhere. There's a cord attached that you wear around your neck. They're about the size of a deck of cards, and battery operated(provided by the library). All you need is a set of headpones. It' really great, but the only thing is if you lose one of them it's gonna cost you about $80.
My kids don't like the library very much because when they were small I always had them in there. They would leave with 10 or more books and we would read every one of them.Today they will not step foot in a library unless they absolutely have to. I guess I enjoyed it more than they did.
One library we used to visit had a cafe, a fireplace, and a beautiful view of a river. I miss that one. The closest one to me now is so small, but it does have a special room for teens to hang out. I usually go out of my way to a bigger one in another town because it has so much more to offer.
Oh well, I'm off to check out some new music.
