Thick neck reduction?

This isn't about my neck, but my husband has a rather thick neck and has now decided that he wants some of it gone. Does anyone have any suggestions on exercises to help with the neck? Realize general weight loss should hopefully help, but is there anything in particular that would be recommended?

    Agree with Lagunamama, that leaves concentrating on diet and cardio exercise. Guess you two will be enjoying some walks together!

    losing weight is the only thing that would give the impression of a smaller neck. So many back, shoulder and chest muscles originate in the neck that doing any upper body weight lifting will increase the girth of the neck, particularly any weightlifting that focuses on the trapezius.

Me? A size 10?! You must be joking!

Yup. For the first time since high school I'm wearing a size 10 jean. And I can breathe in them! Haha. I'm down to 155.8 lbs as of this morning. I honestly could not tell you the last time I weighed that. I looked back through my medical record and saw I was 158 lbs in 2004 for a VERY brief period of time. Right now my end goal is 145, though I'll sort of see how I feel when I get there. No doubt I'll at least be in a size 8 by then emoticon

It was nice to see a happy thing this morning when I got on the scale considering the crappy days I've been having lol. Currently on vacation from work (which was much needed) and had to spend hours at the clinic Wednesday for my own physical. My NP was thrilled with my weight loss by the way :) The kids also have colds which doesn't help anything. And then yesterday I took our youngest in for his check up in the morning, which went fine. Three hours later while I was folding laundry he was playing in my closet and cut his little toe open with the closet door (sliding door) so I had to take him to the Urgent Care. Almost ended up with a stitch but a nurse suggested tissue glue so we used that instead. Slightly less traumatic. My poor lil guy :( I'm going need a vacation from my vacation!!!!

Just a quick blog...

It took nearly 22 months, but I finally did it. I am at my pre-pregnancy weight of 163 :) Now to finish what I was working on when I got pregnant... only another 13 to go!

P.S. Moving is an excellent way to lose weight haha.

    LOL Yes, moving is great. We recently moved in less than 3 days. That was a lot of work! But I lost 4 lbs in 3 days so I couldn't complain about it.

A shift in the program

So it only took about a week and a half for me to start to really dislike doing the P90. I think it was just the repetitiveness of it. So, I decided to change it up a bit and I'm mixing in other workout DVDs I have like my Jillian Michaels and Jackie Warner DVDs. So I'm still going at it, just taking a different approach. Because frankly if I dread having to do the same thing night after night (well, every other night since you rotate with the P90) then I'm not going to do it. Gotta do what works for you, right?

    There's a huge plus with your plan too....muscle confusion....by doing different types of workouts you will keep your muscles guessing and that's a very good thing!

We are all very different and what works for one may not be the best for you....so what we need to remember is.........

P90 continues

Didn't post anything but I did finish P90 day 3. Day 4 ended up being my day off for the week. I wanted to work out but there were some issues within the family that had to take priority over getting sweaty with Tony Horton *lol*

So tonight I'll be back it. Still feeling pretty good energy-wise, but considering yesterday starting it being that time of the month in general I feel overly hormonal and bloated.

I do absolutely want to keep this up. I'm excited about getting to day 30 and getting to take a new set of pics and measurements and see where I'm at and what I've achieved :) Not expecting a miracle, obviously, but still will be excited to see the progress.

    You shouldn't expect a miracle....Why? Because a miracle implies that it just happens magically but you're doing the work to make the changes happen and that means IT WILL SHOW! And of course you will have the pride of ownership in every change you see!
