So, in 1 2 3 order. I got lucky on the bonus wheel this week and won one of Coach Nicole's DVDs. One of the two I was considering ordering this month so "Yea me!"
I input my exercise information before I go to the gym because I know it's already there and if I don't do what I say I've made myself the worst kind of liar. Well, twice this week I input the info then could not do the entire routine because apparently I'm still recovering from the 'mild' case of pneumonia of the last two weeks. But, did I go back and adjust my tracker? Nooooo. Bad, bad me.
Did manage to get my initial fitness eval done yesterday. This should have been done back when I joined the gym in January but... This was a pleasant surprise. My fat/muscle ratio is far healthier than I expected. My flexibility is at the top of the charts. And my bicep strenghth is, I'm told, "remarkable". Of course, aerobic fitness is not what it should be but, again, pneumonia could have attributed to that. I do a repeat eval in 6 weeks and we'll see if there are any improvements but for someone who expected her BMI to be over 40% to find it nearly 10 points lower was an extremely pleasant surprise. Happy me!

Okay, I've been on SparkPeople for quite a while now and I've been pretty faithful in using the food tracker. Lately I've noticed changes, particularly today. It used to be that anyting you put in counted toward your total up to 15 items. I've noticed lately that things such as mayo and margarine don't count. Okay, I understand they are not really healthy for you but today I ate an avacado, 3 oz lean steak, a whole wheat pita and 1/2 tbs mayo. The tracker gave me 1 point for these four items. Huh?

I enjoy spring, I really do, but this year it seemed to be just out of reach. I live in coastal Mississippi where the average yearly temp is , oh 80 F. But, this year spring has barely risen above 60 on most days. I dont mind really because I prefer cooler temps but...those temps don't allow for things like the blooming of roses-my bushes are full right now, tomato, cucumber, pepper, squash and watermelon plants that are showing flowers, or blackberry and blueberry bushes that are sprouting. Now, since these things have been happening for over a week you would thing I would have believed spring was already here but, BUT I got definite proof this morning. I have two asparagus peeking green heads up from their nest of dead brown roots. Yeah, spring is definitely here!

Yeeesh, it's been a bad two weeks. On the way home from the gym last Monday my car dies, at a red light at rush hour. Was Thursday before the verdict came back that my Kia was deader than dead. So, had to go car shopping Friday, got a clunker but it'll get me where I have to go.
Was looking forward to getting back into the gym Monday. Yeah. The weekday nanny had an allergic reaction to shrimp Sunday night and I had to stay over. Didn't get out of there until 11 p.m. Monday night. Too tired to head to the gym.
Woke up yesterday to my own head feeling like it weighed 1000 lbs and was being held under water. Double ear infection, sinus infection, no gym until I can stand up without wanting to pass out.
Bad two weeks but it'll get better, right? RIGHT??!?!?!?!

Okay, so have heard from some of you that you are having the same prob w/the BodyMedia, glad to know I'm not alone. But, the last few days it has gotten more accurate, or at least closer to the same count I'm getting as far as work out time. I've also been counting my own steps and it is usually 100-300 steps ahead of me. I'm sure I forget occasionally to count or start my next trip on the wrong number. Tested it while I was at the track yesterday and the counts came up just 3 off. So it's getting better.
Also saw my Internal Med doc yesterday. Yeesh! I've gained 3 lbs (hoping it was a post lunch thing) and my A1c was 7.6. Umm? Whoops! I haven't had one that high in awhile. Was lectured long and hard on that. But showing by my last two weeks counts I'm doing much better except....um, yeah, I've had some low, low, lows. Four days of evening drops below 50. So, am I getting better or rebounding in a bad way? Wish I knew.
