An Entertaining Day One

Sunday, May 20, 2012

Yep, I am another that saw Arthur's video, and it got me thinking. So I watched it again, and I starting thinking some more. Then I looked over to my oldest child who's nine years old and over 100 pounds, and I brought him over to watch it too. He watched it, and I asked him what he thought about it. He said he thought it was cool. I asked if he thought we should do that together, and he said yes!

I went straight to google and started my search. I came across the site. Now, I'm a single mom of 2 boys, my oldest 9 and my youngest 7 *who is also legally blind*. To say funds our tight in our house is an understatement, and I'll admit to being discouraged when I saw the cost of the packages. When one doesn't even know how they are coming up with two pennies to rub together, I may know what i have one month, but the next, I just never know if the funds are there or not.

But, I knew this could be the key for both my oldest and I, and...well, i'm stubborn. So I went to ebay to search for it as well. JACKPOT!!! I found someone selling the YRG DVDs. *sigh of relief* Then BONUS, there's the 50+ program, well, I knew damn well I had over 50pounds to lose, and while still a bit more than I could afford at the time, it was also something I couldn't afford to NOT do either. And order it, I did.

WOW, talk about fast shipping, I ordered the 50+ YRG video on ebay on the 17th and it was in my mail box yesterday!! Originally, I had planned to start up everything Monday night. Well, there was no time like the present so we did our first workout last night.

Now, there's the clearing of the living room hilarity to get things "ready". Oldest *Sebastien* and I, watch the first part. We were anxious but excited. He was excited, which made me very glad. Then we got to the workout, grace is NOT my child's middle name, and he toppled into me a few times. The best part being when our little puggle dog would decide to clean Sebastien's face while He was doing some of the moves. And I do believe I only cursed a few times, and there may have been more than one "you've got to be kidding me", BUT we made it through the 20min workout. LONGER than, yes I timed it. Overall, there was much laughter, great bonding...........and I made it through the damn program!!!

I DID IT!! Day ONE down....however, many it takes left to go!

One Month 20# and 11 inches...YEAH BABY!!

Friday, February 08, 2008

On January 5th, I got the shock of my life when I got a scale and got on to find that I weighed 280lbs. I knew that it was time to loss weight for good. Thus I started my weight lose journey. I started monitoring what I was eating. Luckily, I found this site a week later. Since then I have been able to monitor EVERYTHING! and I do mean everything. I weigh myself every morning and it has helped me see how my body reacts to different things...not enough calories...too much excerise...and what seems to be the right balance. Although I am still learning it all.

I am happy to say that this is the best I have ever done at losing weight. The morning of Febuary 5th, I weight 159.7. I couldn't believe I had lost over twenty pounds!!! It was amazing. I also lost 11 inches from my hips and waist.

If not for being able to truly monitor everything, I don't think I would be doing as well.

Great job! I've dieted before but never succeeded. I think the accountability is what makes SparkPeople a success. When you can see everything you consume in caloric form, it makes a huge difference.

Keep up the good work. You're on your way!!!!

First Day of School

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Okay, I don't have to worry about exercise anymore. Every class I have is on the second (1) or third (2) floors...oh yeah and 2 are in the basement oh wait...underground lecture hall...I was corrected today. So I'm up and downstairs all day long as well as walking from one end of the campus to the other three times a day. And if that didn't burn some calories....I definately froze some off today. My legs still haven't thawed out.

It is hard finding time to workout, take care of children and go to school. Sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the hard work!

An ODD Day

Monday, January 21, 2008

Okay well maybe not odd just one of THOSE days in my life. First, I thought my first day of classes was today.....ahhh yeah...that would be a NO. I showed up to an empty campus. Thank God no one was there to see my embarrassment....then again I am posting this for the world to read but anyway. So I go back home, and I think I should go to the gym, which I had just gotten the membership to yesterday. I look at the clock and I would only have an hour there before I would have to come back home because there is a package I'm expecting today from the UPS man.....and as a side note I did call UPS to see if they were delivering today and they are. So because it was just an hour I didn't want to go. THEN I stopped....what was I thinking in an hour I can burn 400cals or more. Wasn't sitting on my tush and making excuses what got me here in the first place. YES!!! So I am proud to report that I got off my tush and went to the gym for an HOUR. I even worked on the elilpical for 30mins for the first time in six years....URGHH!!! But I did it!

Recumbent Bike Seat

Saturday, January 19, 2008

Okay why is it that even with all the extra padded my tush supplies does the seat on my bike hurt my tush!!! I mean I could understand it if I had a small tush but at the moment there really isn't much that's small about me. Right now I have energy and would love to pedal away but my tush hurts. And you can only walk around the coffee table so many times before you're not only ditsy but dizzy as well. URGHHH!!!

Maybe check with a local Bike shop? I ended up getting a bike that is more recumbent than the one I had previously. Gel seats used to be about $25 .. I lose track of time LOL have no idea how much they are now !! Hope it's getting better !!

I have the same problem. Bought a new seat. Doesn't help! I've been told by riding enthusiasts that this DOES go away. I just haven't had the stamina to get over it yet!

Maybe we can do it together! Purple power!
