More prep time on food

Since we started eating at home again, and I am trying to get us back on the diet where we successfully lost weight I am definitely spending more time on food prep. I make our coffee in the morning and put DH's in the thermos. Then there is fruit to prep for both of us. Cereal to pour. Yogurt for me. I pack my b-fast to go and eat at work. All the fussing around means 20-30 min of food prep in the morning.

Tonight we had portabello wellington. I've never made it & it was really good. Last night we had tempeh bourginon. Anything that marinates in pinot noir for an hour, and then simmers for another hour in it you know will be good! Neither was calorically too heavy. Overall it's good to be branching out and cooking again, and food has become a lot more enjoyable again.


Finally under 160!

I'm finally under 160....again. I've been there about 4 times but my body seems to think 160 is perfect. This time I am going to stay under 160, and keep dropping. I am DETERMINED!

Had a pretty good week this week. Missed my walk yesterday and today is pouring buckets so my exercise will consist of runs through the rain to the marina laundry room, and with groceries to the car and boat.

DH and I determined a few weeks ago that we were spending too much money and calories eating out. We had one meal out since October 24, and he ended up having one business lunch out, and we are both have made some progress again. I love saving money and calories at the same time!

Still haven't tried out the hula hoop. I think it is going to be a challenge. Tomorrow if it is nice I'll give it a whirl after work. I hope it will whirl anyway!

Hula Hula

Yesterday DH and I went for an hour and a half walk. Stopped a Borders to sit in the sun and drink and iced tea, then went to Big 5 and bought a hula hoop. Someone at aikido suggested it might help me connect with my center. Acutally I have never hula'd before. But of course you can find how to lessons on youtube! Tonight after work I am taking my hoop to the park to give it a whirl.

20 again in 2010

That's how I ended my last blog entry about 9 months ago. I think there is still time if I get one it. Less wine during the week, more exercise, more aikido, less food! I started at a size 18 in 2008, and now I am a size 12. Size to here I come! (Dare I dream of seeing 8 again?)

I started my diet Dec 1 2008, and by Feb 2009 had lost 20 pounds. Since then I have been maintaining. I want to lose another 20 pounds, but I don't think I can cut any more calories without turning into psycho woman. I need to start tracking calories again, as I suspect that they are creeping up again, though I'm maintaining the 18-20 pound weight loss. And I need more exercise. It's time to get moving again! 20 again in 2010!

  I'm with you I just recently lost 20lbs in 14 weeks. I exercised 3 days a week at the YMCA with a trainer and let me tell you I felt like i was run over by a truck for almost the whole entire time. Our last work out we put on backpacks full of food equal to the weight we loss and worked out. 20 extra pounds was a lot of weight. We donated the food to a local food bank. I know I do not want those 20lbs back emoticon
