It was misty today but I had already determined if it wasn't outright raining I was going for a run. I'm back now and real rain is just starting. My goal this week is 2.3 miles 3 times. This will give me a 7 mile total, and keep my increase going. I didn't get a run in on Friday last week but I did get a 2.5 mile walk in with hubby on Saturday (Hooray for his feet!!) so I am counting that in my 7 miles last week...don't know if I technically should but I am. If weather allows all my runs this week that will be two weeks at 7 and I build again next week. It may not really be much of an increase but I am starting conservative because I don't want to hurt myself building too fast, and my mileage has been inconsistent... Anyway, today was a bit of a slog but I did it. Not every run can be perfect.

I've been running on my minimum for sleep this week and last night I only got 5 hours, so I really didn't expect much from today's run, but I was shooting for 2 miles so I figured I could tough it out. What a nice surprise I had. My breathing felt really smooth and regular and effortless. And I felt like I was just gliding along in the dark. It turned out to be a really nice run. This is the coldest morning I have had yet; I didn't even crack the zipper on my fleece until I had made the turn for home. In the end I never took my fleece off, which is unusual. Next target run is Saturday, having to work around the weather this week. But I'm getting the runs in!

Another 3 miles each, and not bad runs. Both on Mondays. Then Wednesdays it rained both weeks...and Friday, well, I've been blowing my Friday run. Both Fridays I worked from home, and both Fridays we were having guests over, and well, my run just kind of got lost. I need to start paying attention to Friday a bit more I think. Of course it is supposed to rain on Wednesday again. What is it with all the rain only on run days?! I have already decided if I get rained out Wed that I will just have to go Thursday instead, and then try and get my third run in on Saturday. I need at least two. Building mileage is not working really well at this point...

It was windy out there today and getting ready to rain, but the drops held off until I was on my cool down lap around the block. It is coming down pretty steadily now though. There was a nice tailwind on the way out (which kept my too long bangs in my face-really need that haircut this week) but that made a wicked headwind on the inbound leg. I ran two miles in 23.30, which is an 11.65 mile, somewhat faster than normal in spite of the wind. I am getting more serious about trying to increase mileage now. I think I have been turning in 6-6.5 mile weeks so this week I plan to do 7 if the weather allows...

Well, I got to bed at 12:30 last night for no good reason. I quickly revert to my night owl status when I get a few days off work. So 6:00 came pretty early...When I finally crawled out of bed an suited up my Forerunner wouldn't turn on, even though it had been charging last night. So I plugged it in again for a few minutes and started breakfast and coffee prep, but when I came back to it, it still said low battery. So I went off for my run with just my watch with the timer. I did my route to the park, which I know is about 3 miles, in 38 minutes. A little slower than normal, but I was actually trying for that. It was a good run.
