Run # 73 Went somewhere new

Today I started off on my usual run. My left knee felt a little sore and at first I thought I might have to abort. But it loosened up after a few strides so I kept going. I got to the end of the park and just decided I was not going to go the same route as always and see all the same things. So I turned around and ran the other direction. That turned out to be upwind, but today was pretty warm so the breeze was nice. It has been so warm recently that I am either going to need to run earlier, or get my shorts out again. I was just too hot. But I turned in a 20 minute interval. It was a bit of a struggle today, but I won.

Run #72 Jogging along

Today was more of a mental challenge but I figured I could turn in at least 20 minutes, since I seem to be building a solid base there. I just kept telling myself I could do it. In the end I did 22 minutes. Yay! I still have to figure out how long my route really is. Today my pedometer said 2.12 miles. This is kind of aggravating. Anyway, it is a beautiful day out there, the sun is shining, it's a 3 day weekend, an I got a raise and a bonus today. Life is good!

Run #71 Cold and windy

It was cold and windy but I went out today anyway, with an added scarf and gloves. The upwind portion only knocked 2 minutes off my run. I ran for 21 minutes; I think I did 23 last time. I thought that was pretty good given it was blowing 10-15mph. I stayed surprisingly warm. And I felt good the whole time, because the whole time I really felt like I could do it. Some days the battle is all in the head, but today there was no battle, which was really nice and made the run feel good. I can now see myself closing on my goal of being able to run for 30 minutes and it isn't that far off, though it may take a few more weeks. That is pretty cool.

I knew the last two weeks weren't kind by the way my pants fit. I'm back up to 153 . Wow that was easy. Less food more exercise. Time to buckle down.

Route mapper

I found the route mapper on SparkPeople. I knew it was there because I've seen it before, but boy is it buried! According to the route mapper my out and back run is approximately 2.5 miles. I think this is plausible and it sure makes me feel better!

    I had a challenge finding it, too, but I thought since I'm so new, it was me. I'm having a little challenge navigating everything right now. Had to do a search to find my own blog LOL; but, I LOVE the map route application. I mapped out the route my son and I have been walking and it is 3 miles - and I was able to figure out how to add 1 more mile for the days I go without my son. What a FABULOUS tool! Congrats on the 30 pounds. You are an inspiration!
