I walked to work this morning, yay! It felt so good to move. A part of me wanted to break into a jog but I had my work clothes on. It made me look forward to my run tomorrow, which is a new thing, and kind of funny. I know it may be a tough run, since my last one was on January 9 I think, and I have probably lost conditioning. But I am looking forward to getting back to it, and what it seems to bring to me. Time to start training for that 5K in June emoticon

    I took a long break from running too but it only took me about 3 weeks to get up to a 5 km because my body rememberd how to move and breath. Good luck to you and I hope you re-spark your enjoyment of running.

Got to rant for a moment

I've noticed at the grocery store lately that lots of things come packaged for two, or so they say. This is a trap!!! Tonight I looked a "Pain por Deux." This cute little loaf of bread actually serves six. I bought tiramisu for two, and split it 3 ways. Unfortunately after I ate it I found out there are actually FOUR servings per container. So instead of having a bit less than I thought, I ate a bit more. This is making potato chip manufacturers look like saints when it comes to advertising. At least they recognize that when I buy a snack bag of chips there is a good chance I am going to eat the WHOLE bag all by MYSELF. Thank you Lays for telling me how bad the hit is right up front, and not selling me a snack bag that serves two, not one. I'm well accustomed to reading labels. I do it all the time, even on products I buy all the time. But please, just be honest with me. Don't sell me something that looks like it serves 2, when it really serves 4 or six. My eyes are old and tired. I can't read all that fine print. Just tell it like it is, and if I want it I am going to buy it anyway.

The scale says I gained 3 pounds this week. Although I have not gotten a lick of exercise my diet has not been that bad. I haven't met my target calorie restriction but I have restricted calories most days. And a new pair of pants I bought were looser this week than they have ever been. So I'm not believing it, and I'm not logging this weight. We'll see what the scale says next weekend. Raspberries to you you lousy scale! You are not going to make me feel bad.


Can't shake this cold

Well DH and I can't seem to shake the last of our colds. It is very up and down. We'll feel pretty good for a few hours, then tank. We both have coughs and general snottiness. My voice comes and goes. I haven't gotten a lick of exercise in for more than a week. That is really going to be tough when I start running again. I am hoping to be better next week.

A week with a cold

I came down with a cold. Stayed home on Wednesday, worked most of Thursday, and made it through the day Friday. I sure am tired of this cold. I was hoping to get a run in this weekend but I don't think the congestion will allow it. I will fit a walk in somewhere today though, maybe while the washers go round. In spite of spending the week eating things that sound good (jalapeno poppers and chocolate donut holes) and getting NO exercise after Monday, I did still manage to lose 0.2 of a pound. All things considered I think that's pretty good.
