It seems my run route is upwind at the start every day now. Today I ran 17 minutes (I was going for 18, but I miscalculated...) then walked for 3, then ran another 3. Total run time 20 minutes, 13 minutes walking. It was kind of challenging but I kept telling myself I could do it, and stuck with it. It felt really good afterward.

Well, as predicted run 53 stunk. Perhaps it was a self fulfilling prophecy, but I did go into it feeling very tired, and with a headache, and it was COLD out there today. I tried to bring a good mindset, but my heart wasn't in it, and the heart won. I tried changing up the route, but I guess it wasn't a good day to try that. Maybe if I had stuck to the old boring route I could have gotten further, because I pretty much know how far I can run on that one. Anyway, I ran for about 4 minutes, then walked for a couple, then ran about another 4, walked another two, ran for 1 minute, and then figured screw it, it just isn't working today. So I went for a nice walk in the sunshine and called Darling Husband and told him how much it stunk without him while I walked. I forgot my pedometer today too. So today's total is about 9 minutes running, a nice 31 minute walk. At least I got some exercise.

I have to admit I really don't feel like going on run #53. I'm tired. I think I was really looking forward to having DH along with me on his first run, but he slept badly and is congested, so he wants to wait. I think I am really bored with my out and back route and I need to change it up some. But anyway I already have my running clothes on and I have to shower at work anyhow, so I might as well go get sweaty. So cheer me on folks, and I'll report back later. I don't think this is going to be an easy run today. Maybe I'll be wrong!

I had a nice run in the fog this morning. That was a first. I thought it would be kind of fun so I made sure I got out before it could burn off. I did an 18 minute interval. I was shooting for 20, but my gut started to feel a little tight. And we went and got DH runnng shoes over the weekend, and he wants to try running for the first time tonight. I told him I would run with him, so I thought I should scale back a little and save some energy for tonight. I am not sure how it will work to run twice on MWF, but I figure I can get away with it for a little while at the start. I will have to adjust my work outs accordingly, and pay attention to my body. It is going to be time for new shoes soon too, and with double the runs it will probably hasten that, and I may need to put 2 pair into circulation. Goodness! Who would have thought that at the start of this experiment. DH and a friend say I look "firmer." Not sure exactly what that means but I know it is a compliment.

Today I did an 18 minute interval! The start today was pretty tough because I had a slog into a pretty brisk breeze, and it was chilly! I wasn't sure I was even going to make a 10 minute interval, but I just kept pushing because I knew I could, and the wind was the only difference. Then I did a 3 minute interval after that. Total time today, 21 minutes running and 10 mnutes walking. I just ordered a waist pack instead of a wallet because my wallet bounces so much on my shorts (one pair anyway) that it flies off. I wonder if I should have ordered one that holds a water bottle too, but people seem to think those bounce too much. Will have to figure out what to do with the water bottle next. Honestly, half of running is in your head, and the other half is in the gear
