Run 44 Last run of the week

Today went much better than Wednesday. I managed to avoid all the equipment malfunctions. The music on my player was good. The rain held off, all day in fact. I ran with tights under my shorts, and used my arm warmers and that was perfect for 47 degrees. I ran a 13 minute interval and an 8 minute interval.

Today was pretty breezy. I thought it was cooler than it was, so I wore a light fleece that was too much. The right earbud on my new earphones won't stay in my ear, so I took the rubber piece off and wrapped the wire around my ear and stuffed in again, which mostly worked. Then my wallet fell off, ripped my headphones out of my ears, and it all bounced on the ground. I took this as a sign it was time to remove my fleece. Running into the wind seems to take way more effort. The first interval was 9 minutes (that's when my wallet fell off, so I had a break to put myself together. ) Then I ran 6 minutes, back toward work so it should have been more downwind, but didn't seem to be. My calves were screaming and it was hard to get into it again. Even the music didn't seem to help much. Then I did another 6 minutes. Total 21 minutes running and 15 minutes walking. So much for the high aspriations of Monday.


Run 42 Almost forgotten

I forgot to blog yesterday's run. Yesterday I ran with music for the first time. Instead of "I think I can" it was "I can run to the end of this song." I did manage to enjoy some of the music though, and I think it did help, especially at the end. I ran for 12 minutes, and then 10 minutes for a total of 22 minutes run time. I might try for 13 minutes tomorrow. Not sure yet.

Today I did a 12 minute and an 8 minute interval. The 12 went pretty well. The last few minutes of the 8 I was the little engine that could. But I did! Total 20 minutes run time, 13 minutes walking. My calves have been really tight since Wednesday's run and that mad today harder too. But now either I finally stretched them out, or the ibuprofen has kicked in and relaxed them. Whew, that feels better. I am now starving. Going to make some split pea soup (at 9L30 am!). Got to find my headphones this weekend so I can have some music to help me through the tough parts.

Wow, I've done 40 runs now!
Today I ran a 12 minute interval, which was a bit hard but I pushed through. Then did an 8 minute interval, also a bit challenging, but I feel good about it.

Total run time 20 minutes, walk time 11 minutes.
