Run #24 Better than I think

Wednesday, September 07, 2011

It was dark this morning when I left, and fairly dark until about 6:20, so it is time to start juggling the morning schedule, as it was definately too dark on my run. I'll try shuffling around my morning routine and leaving around 6:20 on Friday and see how that works. I decided this 6 minute hump needed to be gotten over so I would try for 7 minutes. But it was dark and hard to see my watch, so when I finally looked, after guessing about where 7 minutes would put me, I found I had been running for 7minutes 40 seconds, and it wasn't too bad! So I did two more 7 minute intervals, for a total of 21 minutes running and 12 minutes walking. I will do 7's again on Friday, and think about bumping to 8 next week sometime. The next hump I hit I will push a little harder I think to get through. It feels good to have made progress after all!

Run #23- 6 minutes still whipping me

Friday, September 02, 2011

After many meals out with the in laws & not much exercise but a day of sailing on the Bay, I felt all bloated and resolved this morning to get up and run, which I did. Three 6 minute intervals again. Six minutes still seems to be kicking my butt and I wonder if I will ever get to 7. I may just need to push on it. Maybe I am taking it too easy...hard to tell. Today I fly to PGH for two nights for a surprise 90th bday party for my grandmother. I get back Sunday night, and may or may not run on Monday...

Sounds like you are back on! Have fun at the birthday party. Don't do like me and have too much fun. LOL. I love beer, cake and dancing. Not exactly in that order...or maybe the order was right. Ha. Enjoy. We'll be here when you return.

Missed a run

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Well, I missed my run again. I woke up to go, but I had a wicked headache, and with the in-laws arriving in a few hours I thought, "This I don't need today." So I took a couple excedrin and went back to bed for 45 minutes. The headache is gone now and we head to the train station shortly.

Sorry, you don't feel well today. Hopefully, the visit will be pleasant (wish, fingers crossed). Tomorrow is another day, and your run will be a perfect excuse to get some you time.

Good Luck!

Run #22-Struggling a little

Monday, August 29, 2011

Well, today should have been run 23, but I was so knackered this weekend I just couldn't do my Saturday run. Sunday I didn't feel any better. So I missed one, but I'm still going. Today my goal was 3 6 minute intervals, but I may have done 2 6's and a 5. I lost track a little on the last one. The first interval was really hard. The second 6 felt good and gave me confidence for number 3, but that one was harder again--but not as hard as the first one. I'm struggling a little with feeling like I should be able to run longer. It feels like my lungs can't handle it. I feel like I should be up to at least a 7 minute interval, if not 8, but the six minute interval is just kicking my butt. Nothing for it but to do it again.

Run # 21

Thursday, August 25, 2011

Today I did 3 6 minute intervals for a total of 18 minutes run/jog time, and 15 minutes walk time. Man the 6 minute intervals are kicking my butt. The last one was tough to finish but I did. I think I will stick with 6s' next week, unless I see amazing improvement on my Saturday run,. My Saturday is kind of packed & I am not sure how I am going to even get a run in. Next week I really want to go back to MWF runs, and I am kind of hesitant to run two days in a row yet (Sunday-Monday). I'll see what the weekend brings.
