153.2 today. I haven't seen that weight in years. Thursday I went and bought 2 new pairs of pants. My dockers were hanging at my hips and the crotch was 2 inches below my crotch when I wore them, which was getting old. Turns out I have lost 5 pounds in the last 5 weeks, but it has been so slow it is really hard to tell, until my tracking program(FitDay) mapped it out for me today. Pretty cool. Maybe the running is helping a little. Have to get ready to go give blood.


Run # 19-Almost forgot

I almost forgot to whine about my run today!
I did 3 five minute intervals and that was all. Those intervals just felt soooo long. My legs and muscles were fine, but breathing seemed hard., although I recovered just fine in the 2 minute walking intervals. After the last interval my right calf did feel slightly cramped so I walked the rest of the way home.

I think I will start next week with a few more 5 minute hurdles and see if I can get over this hump.


Measuring weight loss-little annoyances

I know that the scale is not the most reliable method to measure progress, so when it holds steady or goes up a pound, and I've been exercising and meeting my calorie quota I know it is probably lying.

They say taking body measurements is more reliable. I find it is, but only sort of. Short of tattooing lines on my body, it is very difficult to be sure you are measuring in the same place this week as you did last week. Consequently I find my calves may have been 13.25 last week, but 13.50 this week, and 13.25 again next week. My hips are the only thing that I seem to get close to consistant measurements on. This is all very annoying.

Run 18-Wednesday's hate me

It's official. My Wednesday morning run hates me. Today I did 3 five minute intervals and a 2 minute interval to finish. 17 minutes walking and 17 minutes running.

Last night I went out and bought another pair of shorts and another top so I don't have to keep doing laundry mid week to have clean clothes for the third run. Turns out my new shorts are a little sparse in the panty, couldn't tell in the store with the extra underwear on. But they were on clearance for $7.20 so it is not a huge hit if I need another pair.


Run 17, week 6 beginning

Today I ran two five minute intervals followed by two four minute intervals. Considering we had a guest arrive at midnight, didn't go to bed until after 1:00, woke to nature's call at 5:00, and I gave up trying to sleep any longer at 5:45, I think it went pretty well. The last interval seemed to take forever, but somehow it is easier to encourage yourself to keep going when you are in the final home stretch. Wednesday I will try and do 3 five minute intervals, hopefully a lot better rested too.
