Getting Back to My Feet

Well, here I go... really trying to give it another valiant effort. For awhile it really became for me an exercise in futility and I gave in to the frustration that goes along with it. Coming back from a really terrific, life-affirming weekend with some of the best women on the planet I feel like I can put that frustration aside and work at it.

I was gifted a lovely celtic-inspired notebook so I've decided to make that my wellness journal. In it I hope to journal my food... my fitness... and any other thoughts that help me to work toward being a healthier, my joy-filled me.

So last night I stopped at the store to fill the cupboards with healthy food that I can control - no pre-made, processed food. I spent my pre-work time eating a good breakfast - 325 calories - filled with both fiber, protein, dairy and fruit... and then prepared lunch to take to work - 495 calories. Tonight I'll eat a sensible dinner AFTER I spend a half hour working out at Curves.

Ravenous!

Okay, my mom asked me today if I was mad about something when I went to pick up my pup Nildė at their house last night. No, I told her -- I was ravenous!

I went right from work to choir rehearsal last night without stopping for a meal - and then I stopped at the grocery to buy food for the rest of the week and by the time I hit the car, my tummy was on critical!

Comedy of errors as it was then I had to unload said puppy and groceries, dropped the keys in a bag, which refused to be found and to top it off had to pee like nobody's business! I finally managed to wrangle the impatient dog and the missing keys and made it in the house to my great relief!

It would've been so much easier to stop at Wendy's or some other fast food place on the way home, but I persevered and brought home healthy items. Since it was later than I should eat a big meal, it was just hummus and pita - but that was enough. And a good lesson not to wait so long to eat next time! emoticon

So Far So Good

Day 1 finished well -- I made it to Curves and had a healthy dinner. Day 2 is going well so far. I managed not to be tempted by the Krispe Kremes at the gas station-quickie mart at all. Maybe I'm finally ready to stick with it?? emoticon

Dusting Off the Cobwebs

Well, it's been since last spring since I posted any blogs here, and I can tell! I haven't held myself truly accountable since then, and I really need to get back on track. I can wail and moan all I want about working out and eating right, but unless it's in black and white I have no proof true or otherwise.

So this morning I climbed back on the wagon. I had yogurt for breakfast and a salad for lunch and a good dinner waiting for me at Mom and Dad's later tonight after visiting Curves and working out. It's a good day! :-)

Waffling around

And no... I don't mean eating waffles, although that does sound a lot better than the yogurt I'm eating for lunch. I'm just at a point where I'm working out, but not as regularly as I want or should... I'm eating a lot better (hence the yogurt), but not as cosistently as I was even two weeks ago. I'm in that slump where I'm still on the road, but have swerved a bit over the curb here and there. I really want to get back on the straight and narrow though... I've got a few events coming up within the next two years that I really want to look my best for -- and of course I just want to be in the best health EVER!

Anyone got some motivation to give? lol!
