Well I logged into SP for the first time in a long while! The last time I weighed myself I was at 138... only 3 lbs from my goal of 135 by August 30th 2010.

I slacked off, had a lots of picnics, etc. I am guessing I am still hovering between 139 and 141. I will weigh myself this coming Saturday.

I started jogging 3X a week again and re-doing the couch to 5K, except I started at week 6 which was my toughest week last year. It was so hot yesterday I didn't "move on" to the 3rd workout, but redid the second day work out, 2 10-min jogs.

Anyhow, next week I am going to resume my morning ab workout as well. No baby yet soo I will keep on doing this thing!

Even if I don't reach my goal, I will still be happy that I will have lost about 24 lbs with SP (in about 10 months) and lost almost 45 lbs since 2006. (: I'm still happy with that! But here is to trying a little bit harder for a couple more weeks! emoticon

    Great work, Amanda! You are still such an inspiration to me! I am still struggling to get below 150. I am so tempted to do the C25K, but I'm not going to run in the wintertime(my gym doesn't have a track), so it just doesn't make sense for me to start, and then stop in a few weeks. Plus, not having a jogging stroller makes it difficult with the girls.

So you're coming upon some possible baby time?? Please keep me updated! That was always a stressful time for me... I used all of the charts I could get! lol.

If you decide to keep doing sparkpeople, let me know... maybe we can set up a team or something to encourage each other more often! emoticon

Some Progress!

I LOVE to post progress. After sticking with an exercise routine last week, I'm please ro report a total loss of 5 pounds! Two for me and three for my husband! (: He wasn't as thrilled as I was, but hopefully it will keep him motivated for this week.

The last time I tracked my weight, I was at 144, and now I am at 142.something. I hope I can also stick with it this week. I will not be able to do formal exercise Thursday-Saturday, so I need to focus on eating right on those days. (:

This week's plan:
Mon- biggest losers DVD
Tues- jogging outside + ab workout in the morning
Wed- 1 or 2 miles walk/jog video + ab workout in the morning
Thur- ab workout in the morning + MAYBE 1 mile walk/jog video in the morning too

Thursday evening I will be setting up for a yard sale which exercise in itself, and will working the yard sale Fri & Sat.

I hope I can stick with it!! (:

Still Hovering at 142-145

I'm still hovering between 142-145. Not bad, but I've been trying to get motivated and serious about losing the last 7-10 lbs. SO far it has not worked out.

Last week, I did good at the exercise part, I jogged about 6.5 miles and did a video (biggest losers) twice. But the eating part was not that great.

This week, so far I've jogged 2.5 miles (Sun), did the biggest loser's workout last night (Mon), and this morning I started my day with an ab workout.

Tonight, if it's not raining I plan to jog 2.5-3 miles then tomorrow morning, I'd like to start my day with 1 mile video + the ab workout and stick with that all week. I'm alternating my evenings (Wed off and Sat a "make up" day if needed) with jogging and the biggest losers workout. I'm doing the evening stuff with my husband. (: Yeah!

Now, if I could only get through this week, I will hopefully stay motivated for the rest of June! I may try to start tracking my food again, we'll see what happens!

    Thank you both for the encouragement! If I can get back into tracking my calories I may be able to try to breakfast thing! Sounds interesting. I tried eating at the high end of my cal range one day and lower range the next day to mix up my metabolism a while back and that worked, so I wouldn't be surprised if the breakfast would work.

    I hit a plateau a while back, but happened to read an article about eating a big breakfast, of at least 400 calories. The crux of the article was that eating a big breakfast would help move the pounds. I was a little sceptical, but moved some of my lunch items, e.g. a boiled egg, a glass of milk, to breakfast time.

I didn't increase my overall daily calorie intake, I just moved some things around. I can't say for sure that increasing my breakfast calorie intake worked, but............

I was stuck in the 190's for weeks, and having eaten a big breakfast for only one week, I dropped almost four pound down to the high 180's.

If you try this, I'd be interested in knowing if it works.

Running is Contagious!

So my husband needs to lose weight... at almost 300 lbs, he really needs to lose about 50 lbs. He kept saying last year that if he had his bike he would bike. So we got his bike from his parent's house. It was broken, he tried to fix it, but he needed a few parts and never got around to getting them. Someone then GAVE him a bike. He again put off riding it. He told me then (now that it was winter) if he had a stationary bike he would ride it. We got one used from my parent's (so it was free) and he hardly used it- although he DID use it.

This spring he vowed to fix a bike and got to a certain point then that halted too..

SO my YMCA membership was over the beginning of April so I needed to start jogging outside. I went down to the track two Saturdays ago and he had some running around town too do then he came to get me. He said he sat there for about 20 minutes waiting for me to get done.

Fast forward to the day in the evening. I was like so are you going to try to finish your bike now? He was like well you kind of got me thinking.... "okay...?" um... well you may have inspired me... "okay...? lol" well I might want to do the couch to 5k.

OKay so cool, but will he stick to it??!?! I know that will sure help to keep me motivated. He has done two days of week 1, but only did 1/2 the work out. Friday he will do the same and hopefully next week he will try to go longer. He has done the research and got a supplement to help with his knees and must always remember to use his inhaler before going for the workout. I am PRAYING that he will stick with this. I would love to see him lose weight for two reasons: 1) I think he'd look so much hotter, LOL and 2) I want to keep him around for a long time and at this rate (gained about 10 lbs in the past year) heart attacks, surgeries, etc. are rather eminent!

    You're a great inspiration to him! With you cheering him on and showing him a good example, he should do fine. I'm sure he'll catch the running bug; I know I have!

    Be positive around him. Remember "contagious" I do hear ya. My husband is very supportive to me. It wasn't at first, particularly since he is thin, but he understands how difficult it is for men or women and he truly has gotten into my plan. You are doing awesome! Keep up the great work! I said it was my last blog that it was "good to be prideful", I definitely meant it was "not" good to be prideful!

Anyhow, I weighed in Saturday morning at 141.6. I am interested to see what it will be this coming Saturday. My husband also weighed in, he is up almost 10 lbs since last year. ): I hope that is a wake up call for him. He needs to lose about 50 lbs to start with, possibly more after that. We're hoping for a change. While I jog, he is going to bike, in between times I plan to do the 30 day shred periodically, do an ab work out, and start the 100 pushup challenge. He will be walking or biking on the off days.

It will be good if we're doing at this together, even if I have hardly anything left to lose! It will at least keep me maintaining!!

    It's so nice that you can work out together. It always helps to have an exercise buddy to get you going (when you'd rather not!)

Are you planning to run in any more 5K's? Perhaps that would keep you motivated.
